Wise Sage Advice Needed on the Volt..

    Hey there, friends.

I'm seeing some 2013 Volts hit the market. Probably lease turn ins?
Anyways, a 2013 Volt, with charger and 30K on the clock for $12,900.00. My Son really has wanted a Volt
and this has him intrigued. Opinions? Is a car like this good for another 4 years and 100 thousand miles or so?
When do the batteries start to die?
    85 cars since 1975....
    Good night and good luck.

For that price/miles seems like no-brainer, other than some window rattles, ours has been good.

Almost 3 years old, and zero battery degradation.

The only thing I can think of is, with 30,000 miles the tires are ready to be changed, stock rubber sucks in snow, but ours is a 3rd car, so most crap days it sat.

IMHO the LOW price is because NOBODY has taken a VOLT out 5-6 years as the car is on its first generation and NOT due to some "KNOWN ISSUE"

I would also ADD batteries do NOT "DIE" but degrade and the VOLT has very "safe" usage programming + BUILT in buffer space to prevent LOSS of range even when the battery does start loosing capacity

also at 13K MOST cars 4 more years out will NOT have a LOT of resale value left and I would expect it to be a LOT like the PRIUS and hit a price bottom HIGHER then "conventional cars"

If you can qualify for some GM incentives and negotiate a good price, a new 2017 is improved and can be leased for around $250-$300 per month.

On the other hand, I believe the battery warranty on all Volts is 8 years or 100,000 miles, so I would not worry about the battery.
