    Vehicle Hold

How long are most holds? If a dealership is selling a vehicle that is on hold what can happen to them?

    Re: Vehicle Hold

When I bought my High Country they held it for me for a week while I waited for a check to clear at the bank. I put a $1,500 cash deposit on it though. If they sold it they would have had to give me my deposit back, but since they knew I was going to buy it and was already approved for the loan, why bother?

Why would a vehicle be "on hold"? Please explain further.

GM can issue a "stop sale" until a new or used vehicle is repaired according to a safety recall. There is no time limit for the stop sale - only until the safety defect is repaired.
