    SS non-s/c Sedan/Coupe-manual with 205hp!?!

Sent an email to Chevrolet the other day, this is what I got back. Says the Cobalt SS non-supercharged sedan and coupe will have 205hp unlike the 170hp rumors and will have a 5 spd.manual transmission unlike the rumors saying it would only have an automatic. At first I thought they just got mixed up and thought i was talkign about the s/c, but it does say SS Sedan, and the SS S/C is already released.

    --Dear Mr. Newton,

Thank you for contacting Chevrolet and for your interest in the 2005 Chevrolet
Cobalt! The SS coupe and sedan are planned to start production in July of 2005.
They are planned to be produced with a 205-horse power engine with a five speed
manual transmission. Please note that this information may be subject to
change. To obtain more information regarding the Cobalt, please visit
www.chevrolet.com or contact your preferred dealership.

If you need additional information or have further questions, please let us know
via email or by calling Chevrolet at 1-800-950-2438, between 8:00 AM-11:00 PM
Eastern Time, seven days per week. Again, thank you for contacting Chevrolet!

    Sincerely,

I dunno...January 2005? Sounds like the Supercharged to me, but there is no SSS Sedan. So strange...I gues that's welcome news, but why the same HP ratings but without the Supercharger?

...my bad. I thought it said January for some reason. Regardless, it still doesn't make sense that the 2.4 makes 205, while having the same power output from another 4-cylinder. Ahh further evidence proving the 250+HP Turbo 2.0.

They screwed up. I sure GM could get 205hp out of the 2.4 Ecotec naturally aspirated but it would probably have 160lbs ft of peak torque at like 6000 RPMS. No thanks, its my number one gripe against Honda. Well that and a complete lack of exciting cars.
