    Second Thoughts on Z06...

Am I the only one who thinks that the nose thing is actually really ugly:

I mean, the regular car is great and the wheels and stuff on the ZO6 is ok but what is WITH that nostril thing!? Its not even a super or turbocharged engine!

The nostril is used to cool the engine, which makes the engine more efficient. It doesn't have to be supercharged or turbocharged to need a front nostril.

I love the Z06, hopefully GM loves it enough to price it right.

The more you admire it the better it looks. But, the headlights should have a stardard chrome type material behind them, I really don't like body colored headlights! Well if I got one it'd be black anyways so I guess that wouldn't matter.

Turbos and superchargers aren't the only cars that use air intakes, which would be used for air-to-air intercoolers. The Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am used them for their "Ram-air" induction. Ram-air forced induction is probably the easiest way to increase horsepower. The problem is, it's only effective at highway speeds.

But I agree. Those nostrils are used to cool the engine. 500hp in a 7.0L V-8 will probably generate a lot of heat. I don't think they're ugly at all, just a little misplaced. Place it higher on the hood, and it'll look better.

The front valance ground effects and foglights could have been more aggressive. The chin on the Corvette looks like it could be on a '96 Dodge Intrepid.

My only beef with the Z06 is that horrid rear brake duct cooler that's poking out of the side. Looks like the 'vette took shrapnel damage.
