    New Traverse

I am totally impressed. This SUV/CUV is right sized. I asked the folks at Chevy as to if this platform will be the basis of an offering from Buick or Cadillac... They said that i should ask them. My findings will be in the Buick/Cadillac Discussion Thread.
    85 cars since 1975....
    Good night and good luck.

    Re: New Traverse

I was encouraged with the press photos, which are apparently not representative of reality.

    This looked promising:

    ---------------------------------------------------

However the live reveal showed the exact same lame proportions and "4 blown shocks" look of the current Traverse and new Acadia:

In reality it looks like another lame GM crossover with an unbalanced and awkwardly low ride height. After seeing the interior features and more details, this thing is clearly aimed at the person who needs a minivan but doesn't want a minivan....because it's a minivan. Basically exactly the same as the other dozen lame crossovers GM offers, this thing has NOTHING unique to offer the segment.

    Two thumbs down.

You can see the difference between the press photos and the real thing here:

Hard no. I'm not even sure what this offers over other minivans like the Pathfinder, Pilot, or Explorer.

    New Traverse

WOW - nice catch; major bummer!

In the press photos it looked like it had and inch or two of real ground clearance.

Kudos to all three of you. I've been thinking about something new for a bit now and there are a couple of GM cars that have caught my eye but the de-contenting and feature for trim content drives me away. So with the fact of getting older and it's easier to get in one of these crossover or SUV things I've been looking at them. Now the clincher for me: If I'm going to get one it has to be AWD and capable of doing some soft roading. GM just cant get any ground clearance it seems, kind of like having a lowrider Jeep IMO and what is the point of that then, or of a crossover/SUV so close to the ground offering not much more than a regular car.

The lower stance draws attention to the rear fenders and thick C pillar. Like the Explorer, the styling seems optimized for a vehicle with a higher stance.

Maybe the High Country sits taller, hence the "High" in its name.

I would prefer they kept LTZ designation, it had equity I thought.. but Chevrolet people are very renaming happy

Agree, very much! Unfortunately "Premier" has infiltrated the entire brand, and to make matters worse, even if you happen to like the name, they put in in small font on a rectangle badge, which is unreadable at almost any distance, might as well say; Peanut Butter & Jelly on it.

I thought that other auto manufacturers were using "premier" as well.

    Re: New Traverse

I sure hope GM's press release is wrong on the torque rating for the new LGX 3.6. They have the power ratings at only 305 HP and 260 torque. That not only makes it the least powerful of all the new applications of the LGX but it also makes it less torque than the old LLT which dates back to 2009 and makes it less torque than many applications of the previous LGX 3.6.

Is this new Traverse smaller? It seems the interior cargo in the outgoing one was 116 while the new one is 99???

Is it in fact smaller or is this just packaging??
"The car's brilliant and ... a great surprise, pleasant surprise for all Corvette lovers everywhere ... a huge shock to our competitors ... because I don't think anybody was expecting something that good. What pleases me the most about it was that ... I can say this is the first car that's come out, that was done since I left.

I'm pretty sure it is about the same size (exterior dimensions), and here we thought the Lambda had bad "packaging"............

I think it's slightly smaller and lighter.

Not sure about the Lambda packaging, but that was the most roomy 3 row crossover I've been in.
