Smile Lutz's "secret weapons" inspire new 'knothole' process at GM

    Article quote:

"t took many years to learn of former General Motors Vice Chairman Bob Lutz's "secret weapons," but the cat is out of the bag. We recently learned that those secret weapons were a quartet of auto journalists that were put on the payroll to assist GM in the product development process, and now they serve as inspiration for what's known as the 'knothole'.

"Knothole" or "knothead" program? The pass on the U.S. Orlando was a good call...but delaying the Cruze wasn't such a hot idea. Also, how can we be sure that these "journalists" are giving completely unbiased opinions when they get a monthly check from GM? Good idea in theory, but..
