Spy Photos: 2014 C7 Chevy Corvette Powertrain Prototype, Small Turbo V8?

There's nothing quite so frantic, and ultimately wrong, about the debate that rages about what will power the next Corvette. It happens every time and it's happening the same way with the 2014 Chevy Corvette: mid-engine, turbo, DOHC, won't smell like a boat house, split window, V6, smaller displacement, no leaf springs....it's a feeding frenzy. The Detroit Bureau is even publishing rumors -- from a "senior GM executive" -- will be a 400+ horsepower turbocharged small-displacement V8 of just over 3.0-liters with a narrow bore and long stroke. This fits with what GM has publicly said before about the next-gen Corvette gunning for a different type of buyer and aiming for the European exotics head-on.
