How good is the 2014 Equinox in ice and snow ?

Just recently bought a 2014 Equinox AWD. I'm wondering just how good this vehicle will be in the coming Idaho winter in the ice and snow? It currently has all seaon tires in good shape.

It will be good with good winter tyres. "Good" winter means in the top three or four of TR or CR comparisons.

"Good" all season tire needs specific definition. Brand, type, size.

Almost any AWD SUV is going to be pretty decent in 90% of snowfall, driver skill coming into play of course. I negotiated last March's blizzard of 24"+ in the wife's Traverse with all season tires. It did just fine in a majority of driving, except got a little hairy on a roughly 2 mile section of road that was completely unplowed where the town border changed. Winter or snow tires would obviously be preferred, but if you typically are seeing less than ~10" at a time the all seasons will be fine.

Then again I spent 8 years negotiating NY winters (4 near the Canadian border) in a '89 Firebird on all seasons with 2 cinder blocks in the rear for traction...

My Supra is good in the snow with snow tires. Driver skill is essential also.

That looks pretty impressive ! I've had many 4x4's, but this is my first AWD, so I was wondering. My ride should have no problem Thanks for sharing the video !
