WOW, I am really liking the HHR...looks great!! Thanks for the pics!
It looks like one of two things, 1) a mini Durango, 2) a gm knock off PT Cruiser. I think this thing was a bad idea.
So I suppose any retro SUV with fender flares is a knockoff? Only Chrysler or Dodge can do retro??Originally Posted by acascianelli

Chevy said this would be an updated iteration of the '49 Suburban. Look one up, especially the GMC version and see how close it is (scaled down of course).
Just because retro has been done before doesn't mean other players can't join the game. I think that Chevy has delivered more than I thought they would and based on these pics, my wife said she would trade her loaded Rendezvous CXL for this...and she LOVES her Rendezvous.
Beautiful front-end, that grille looks great!
Hidden ContentSorry China, we'll buy your disposable electronics and lead coated toys, but when we Americans want a cheap car with horrible quality, we get a Chrysler.
I dunno man... you're right, it's not a direct copy of the PT. But can you really not see the parallels between the vehicles? To anyone who doesn't know GMC and Chrysler history, they look very similar. My mom would think it's the same thing, at a glance. GM has made a much nicer vehicle than the PT... but I have a tough time giving them too much credit for an all-original idea. Still should do well... there should be lots more cargo room, and it's priced close to the PT, but looks like a more upscale vehicle. I'd love one of these and a Solstice parked in the driveway!Originally Posted by goatgary

I think it looks pretty nice. I really cant wait to see one in person.
ya, seeing this in person... these photos don't do it justice, especially the wheels. They look great in person.Originally Posted by xtremegrandam

Really? Well maybe you're right then. Hope the public sees it that way, because I'd like to see the HHR do well. But I still insist they very basic idea behind these two is the same. And while I see Dakota / Durango in it too, I think that's more of a coincidence.
I'm not a big fan of the HHR, but I have confidence that it will do well - especially with the baby boomers.

My thoughts exactly (but I might wait for the SKY)
Excellent pictures - thanks. Where were they taken?
I like the HHR styling - exterior and interior.
I may consider buying one - but I worry about the quality and reliability of a new model.
