The GenV smallblock needs a cosmetic makeover.

    LSx

    Ford 5.0

And I don't mean with a chintzy plastic "beauty cover" either, I mean tidy it up with repositioned coil packs, better looking valve covers, prettier intake runners, etc.

I'm mostly concerned with its specs!

Any word on what it might be called or initial version of the engine?

Once the underneath part is covered, there's nothing wrong with a little beauty.

Now, if you are going to compare them without covers, might as well get the 5.0 naked as well.

the top picture is of a crate engine, the second is in a production car- of course it will look prettier.

honestly though i like seeing my engine- go to stylintrucks if you want engine dress up.

Also, where in the heck did you find that LSx picture? It has a spring throttle body on it and those disappeared about 5 years ago.

Eeeek. It is pretty homely without the cosmetic doo-dads.

    Here we go, C6R:

I've always liked the Harrop intake too...

You do realize the first pick you posted of the 5.0 is a "chintzy plastic beauty cover" don't you.

I don't really care for the plastic beauty covers myself. I would much rather see the entire motor. I think once the plastic covers are removed the Hemi looks the best.

Sure, but you have to admit that it's plastic bits are prettier than these plastic bits.

That Harrop intake is for a twin turbo build IIRC.

Also, the C6R intake you tried to post, cost about $15k PER runner if Im remembering the plaque from the Corvette museum right.

I've only seen it on NA applications. That tubing is simply air ducts from the air box.

Here's a better look at this beauty...
