Fisker Karma as a four-door Corvette?

Like the Rapide is nothing more than a four-door Aston Martin DB9, Lutz actually did the same by shoehorning a Corvette V8 into the Fisker Karma. Although the bodies differ of course, Karma's sport car-like stance and looks does bring about the suggestion of a four-door Corvette. Question is: would you want one? Let's say for a small $5,000 premium.

... Even the Karma's front can be made to look more Corvette-like...

Nice, MonaroSS! Perhaps you should send your suggestion to GM as well to Bob Lutz.

Re: Fisker Karma as a four-door Corvette?

This is why GM should bid for Fisker... Kill the electric part of the Karma, add in the new LT1 & C7 Corvette suspension bits, and relaunch the model as a four door Corvette sibling... But brand it as a Cadillac. The interiors of the Karma are fine, but they would need to update the center stack with the CUE system...

All in all, it would be a relatively inexpensive way to launch Cadillac into the segment. Price the car at a starting point of $80k and go from there...

I dunno if the electric part would necessarily need to be killed. I can see Cadillac offering both, a gas version as well as a large Voltec car along side the ELR. Either proposition is quite interesting to think about.

Maybe as a Cadillac............a 4 door doesn't work as meaning "a Corvette" Only unless Corvette becomes it's own brand, being not a Chevrolet.

It might look the part but its Chassis dynamics would be nowhere near Corvettes. I doubt it would be as well engineered.

But why would you assume $200 million in debt to acquire and rebadge a fundamentally damaged brand and pass it off as a Corvette?

If GM wants to establish Corvette as a separate brand/sub-brand, they need to do it the right way.

Don't forget that the original Chevrolet SS concept car (2003) was billed as a "four-door" Corvette.

GM should not bid for Fisker. In spite of what the courts ruled, I believe Fisker used stolen Tesla technology in their Karma. The death of Fisker is karma (pun intended). If Bob Lutz and VL Automotive want to buy up Fisker, and use GM LS9 crate motors to create a supercar, so be it. GM doesn't need to be borrowing technology for their high-end products. Develop them in-house on their own.

Re: Fisker Karma as a four-door Corvette?

this is kind of old topic though since VL showed that car at NAIAS in Detroit. (good thing is Lutz, and another group has put in a offer for the Fisker) I love the Idea of a 4 door Vette, I have been watching the Fisker BK just waiting to see what is going to happen. I love Monaro's Chop its killer, I would love to see it with the Stingray front and rear treatment. I say build it, I have talked to a dealership and just decided since they are so cheap, I am going to get a Karma in the next few weeks. I am really nervous about the warranty issues, but They are giving me a super deal on trading my Vert Vette that has a lot of equity, and giving me the Karma with less then 8k miles on it with all the updates completed for around $55k so I will be in a great place to drive a one year old Super Car that MSRP'd for around 100k at half the price. I do wish it was V8 Powered, and was produced by Chevrolet, but the Karma is the nicest car I have ever seen with 4 doors, and Vette looks.

Question for a $5k premium I would buy quick, but wouldnt it be cheaper since all that battery tech costs more as a Hybrid.
IF IT AINT RWD; AND A CHEVY I DONT RIDE IT!!!!!

ALL CHEVY'S NEED TO BE RWD!!!!!

I said they should brand it as a Cadillac, not a Corvette. "Corvette sibling" is probably poor wording... But the use of C7 components, such as the LT1 ("current" 2014 version plus future variants) and suspension would make a Cadillac "Karma" a Corvette sibling of sorts. I have never wanted a Corvette sub-brand, and don't believe GM should ever launch one... Not in North America anyway...

$200 million + $ whatever it would take to add GM components & engineering + $ Certification = (Almost) Instant Cadillac player in the growing 4 Door luxury coupe market.
