    Ecotec 2.4L engine missing?

    Wasnt the Ecotec 2.4L engine gonna be available in the new cobalt? I just went on the chevy site and its not there.

    yea i was wondering that too. i think its coming out next spring.

    I believe its release has been delayed until the '06 model year. That's when we'll see the non-supercharged Cobalt SS, the 4-cylinder G6 and possibly the 2.4 in the base Malibu.

    Yes, the 2.4L will supposedly be in the Cobalt SS sedan version in mid 05 introduced as an 06 model. It will only be available with an automatic and have 170 hp. Personally, my Cobalt SS SC will down upon them, i don't even know why they're badging it as an SS if its not gonna be anywhere near the Cobalt SS SC's numbers.

    It should be called "LT", and not "SS".
