Do you mean the celebrity VR? Love it too!

I have always liked the citation, obviously more so in the X11 guise!

    Re: COPO Chevrolet Citation?

I had an '80 Citation and loved it. It was fast, cheap and very, very roomy. I bought a stripper, with no a/c, radio or auto. It was a great $5,200 car.

I never understood, and I think this is why GM started to go bad, why they just dropped the Citation instead of re-designing it and making it better, like they had always done before with other modles. I think this was the first GM car that got treated this way, and that's why GM went bad. Whatever car replaced the Citation, the Celebrity or the Cavilier or whatever, it was not a Citation. It was never so light and roomy, so affordable and fun again. I think that's why GM went bad.

    Celebrity followed Citation.

And I think the reason they dropped Citation is that it rusted like crazy, the transmissions seized, it fell apart rapidly, it had suspension problems, and lastly it was kinda ugly. It did more to hurt GM's reputation than it did to help it.

I bought an '81 4 door stripped down for 5500.00. Great car, black outside and black vinyl inside- Made a nice oven.
