    Cobalt SS w/ AWD...

Why not beef up the suspension, drop a completely new (pushrod 6 if possible) engine (instead of a super-charging what they got in there), turbo-charge it, and have AWD... have it complete with the likes of EVO and STi... have around 250-270 hp and a few grand less... I think this might be a good seller...

    Just an idea though...

Darn you. I read the title and was hoping something along the lines that this was an annoucement and not an idea... Yes, i think that would be wonderful though. I don't mind sticking with the ecotec though, just switch it to AWD.

lol, sorry, though I too wish it were an announcement... ya, I mean AWD alone would be awesome... but adding more power and possibly a larger engine would be a big plus...

    Re: Cobalt SS w/ AWD...

The Cobalt SS is going to sell really well just how it is. To make the Cobalt a turbo'ed 6, with AWD would make it much more expensive. I like the idea but I don't think I could ever see it happening.

Ahh well... I dream big... lol Yes, the Cobalt SS should sell very well as-is, but I'd still like at least AWD on it... it'd put it above the Neon SRT-4... and it you bump up the engine, then you'd put it above the EVO/STi... just my big ideas though...

Naww doesn't sound like a good idea but maybe saturns STI or EVO fighter. Just a sports coupe would be great for saturn to.

I've been campaigning for the pushrod V6 too. It worked before, it will work again. 240 hp in a light car would be awesome, AWD or not.

Rabbit, ya... they seriously need to put AWD on it though... that would be best... Cobalt SS is a performance car. AWD will only make more of a case for it, and perform better. Those two combined.. WOW! Watch out! STi and EVO need to start lookin in their rear-view mirror..

    Re: Cobalt SS w/ AWD...

I was never a fan of AWD. It gives you better traction off the line and through turns, but after that, it is just dead weight, added cost, and worse power loss.

I mush prefer RWD, but for the reasons mentioned, generally prefer FWD to AWD.

I agree AWD is alot of hype and money!

The 2.0 S/C Eco-tec is a great engine. No need for a V6 either. The car is a compact--they all are 4 cly

You can get a turbo AWD product from GM already -- the 9-2X.

thehemi, yes, as well as the WRX STi (though I know Subie isn't 100% part of GM..) but those are completely different cars, especially the Saabaru... (Yes, I said Saabaru, as in Saab and Subaru)

I'm thinking maybe leave the Cobalt SS at what it is, though as an option, you can add AWD and/or a larger, more powerful engine of, say, 250 or so hp (and if you get both, then yes, it'd be in the range of the STi ad Saabaru...
