Cobalt SS; selling one to my freind

Does anyone know the 0-60 on the Cobalt SS? I've read everything from 6.0 to 6.5, and my freind is considering one, and I want some numbers to 'help' him make the right decision. Hes also considering a Legacy GT and TSX. Go figure the logic lol.

    0-60 is 6 flat
    1/4 is 14.5
    weight is 2800 lbs.
hp is 205 (but dynoing at 210 to the wheels)
    tq is 200
    60-0 is 115 ft.
    200ft skidpad is avg g .89
    600ft slalom is mph 69.0

only bad thing, its a long way to march, especially if your sitting around waiting for it like i am, and i've already got 3 months of sitting around waiting for it under my belt. =(

I believe they are not shipping the Supercharged SSs until a bit later on early this year. The higher volume of Cobalt sales might be the sedans which might be why GM got them out first.

The Cobalt SS goes through the 600 ft slalom faster than a 2005 Corvette Z51, brakes better than the WRX, and out accelerates the Mini Cooper S to 60 mph.

    Talk about bragging rights.

The Cobalt SS goes through the 600 ft slalom faster than a Boeing 747, brakes better than a jar of Smuckers Strawberry Jam, and outaccelerates the Blarney Stone to 60 MPH.

That's just as relevant to the bragging rights posted already.

Of course, it's got a friggin' bloated curbweight when compared to my Swingline Stapler, it uses 10,000% more fuel than a 20oz bottle of Mountain Dew does, it won't last nearly as long as the Great Pyramid in Egypt has, and it devalues faster than a Faberge egg.

There. There's some more data that's just as relevant.

    Your pal,

Honestly, whats bad about this car? Just because nearly everybody is reviewing this as a good car you don't like it? I mean we could compare every car like you did the SS but why would you do that, kinda is pointless. Hell, you've got the Ford GT in your avator, and you could buy multiple new Z06's for the price, have less problems and be just as fast.

Did any one know that GT is a piece of crap and Retro is retarded? Did anyone know that with the Money to buy that GT I could modify and Corvette to out run an Enzo and still have enough dough to buy a wonderful Cobalt SS?

Re: Cobalt SS; selling one to my freind

And BTW at hundreds of MPH I think that a 747 might just be able to outrun not just the SS but even that 500. What, 500 seconds to get to 60? 500 hours per year in the shop? 500 sales a year? Ummm 500 million people who know that mercury is a waste of time? O:-)

I didn't say anything was bad about the Cobalt. I didn't say I didn't like it, either.

But I will go on record as saying that there are plenty of people who are not reviewing the Cobalt, therefore, not 'nearly everybody' is reviewing it as a good car.

There's a difference between comparing cars and picking and choosing certain specs from dissimilar autos to attempt to show your car in a better light. That's idiotic. That's - as you said - pointless.

And - as far as the comparison between the Z06 and the GT goes - The GT is out, the Z06 isn't. Therefore, you have no idea whether there will be more or less problems with the Z06.

    Your pal,
    Meat.

Well, that post is enough to convince anyone with even half a mind that you shouldn't be consulted about automobile purchase.

Meat relax, I was simply quoting C/D's praise for the Cobalt SS in the Feb 2005 issue.

    Take a deep breath.

Neither should you since the Z06 has been released; check GMI home. No, not FOMOCOI, but GMI. What? No FOMOCOI? Maybe Ford fans have lost hope; they should have lost all of it by now.... And my post does make sense even if you don't agree with it :-D
