    Chevrolet HHR Discussion

I was listening to the the HHR Podcast, and I heard that the HHR's rear hatch will have an electronic touchpad release (a la Corvette and XLR) as well as an iPod auxillary input...STANDARD! Sounds great to me, and all for $16K!

    Re: Chevrolet HHR Discussion

A lot of people, even fans of Chevy and GM, have been punishing the HHR, mostly citing that it's a rip-off of the PT Cruiser. Well, it is, but so what? The Camaro was a rip-off of the Mustang, but no one whines about that, do they? Chevy got a late start, but caught up and made a superior product. I think the same may happen with the HHR. If they can offer things that the PT and other small hatches can't, like more space, better driving characteristics and better features for a legit price, then they'll get ahead just like the Camaro. Some people think GM and Lutz are crazy, but when they sell 70,000 in their first year, people won't be able to say much.

Camaro was not a rip off of the mustang. the mustang was more different compared to the camaro. If you look at the boss mustangs, the guy who took place creating the camero took some of that and mixed it with the boss mustangs, thats why if you look at them closely, they sorta look a like a camaro up front.

    Re: Chevrolet HHR Discussion

i don't think the copying is as big a deal as the delay... the PT was what, a 2001 model... the concept came out in like 99. GM is just now in 05 (06 model year IIRC) getting its version out. it does seem like a great value, though for some reason every picture of it i've seen yet looks horrible... but i'll hold judgement till i see it in the flesh. delta definately is a good base, and it should sell well enough... though due to GM's delay, the PT will get a refresh/redesign within a year, and may catch back up. as usual with GM lately, the HHR is an nice car that matches what's out now, but so late getting to the market that what's coming next year will beat it (not guaranteed in this case, but possible), though for once its not overpriced.

Is the HHR getting the supercharged 4? That would be great comp for the GT cruiser.

Found the answer in the July Motor Trend. Apparently it will get the engine for the 2007 model year.

Hard to deside wether I would like an H3 or an HHR. HHR is most definetely cheaper and sounds like it has beter ortions.
