Camaro; The Name Or The Car?

Reading through the interesting autoshow speculation thread, I found that many people are wishing for a Camaro. The Camaro was the Chevy muscle car, but as I have seen it pointed out several times, a return of the Chevelle is much more likely than a Camaro return. Assuming Chevelle is RWD, and wouuld use the same engines as a Camaro would I would think, does it matter that it doesn't have the Camaro name? A RWD Chevy coupe is a RWD Chevy coupe, and with the Chevelle name they can make a sedan version, too. To me, either name would work, or a new one I don't care. What about you?

A return of the Camaro would raise sales more for GM then Chevelle would. Camaro went out in a bad way. They need it back and stop Ford rule the Pony car market before it is to late!

I guess it'd be nice to take the sales from Ford; But itsn't Chevies well-being more important than the preservation of a Chevy nameplate? Your probably right that if they only did a coupe the Camaro name would sell more, but the possible sedan addition would boost it higher. "If you build it, they will come." A RWD coupe is a RWD coupe, I think :-/. .

GM's GTO experience shows that how the vehicle is labelled is all-important to experts of badges, and how a vehicle drives is largely irrelevant to experts of pose
