Hope these numbers are correct because they sound great.

Those are the fact sheets they have with the press vehicles when we get them.

Falls short of the 392 Hemi.

    Disappointed if those are accurate.

There's nothing disappointing about these numbers for the base Vette engine.
    The Hemi 6.4/470HP = 73.4HP per liter
    The Vett 6.2/455HP = 73.4HP per liter

I'd be willing to bet the Vette does so more efficiently and from what I've seen has a flatter torque curve.

Even so, I'd still rather see those numbers for the LT1 going into the Alpha Camaro and the C7 numbers more like 460/465.

GM has done a masterful job recently of under promising, and over delivering which is evident with the Cruze Diesel launch so I will not be surprised if the final numbers are a bit higher.
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death!

    Unimpressed.

I doubt it will be much quicker than the 436 HP C6 base vette, since it is heavier.

This car needs to be 475 hp, minimum.

The 392 has shown to put out more power then advertised. Closer to 490hp. I've never found Dodge to be a benchmark to compare yourself to either.

    Re: C7 HP numbers leaked?

The new motor makes more HP and torque and it will have better MPG, in a car which at its price point will be unmatched by cars costing twice as much and people are complaining. People need to chill out and realize they need to leave room on the table for the Z06 and ZR1 variants.

    Re: C7 HP numbers leaked?

The power is what it is, regardless of what is claimed.
While it isn't the same engine, the 3.6 with DI gained 15% power and 6% in fuel economy.
In the LT1, a 15% improvement would be 64 horsepower, for a total of 500 hp. I'd guess that power is there, but perhaps not claimed initially for a lot of reasons, including insurance premiums.
