I've been looking for reviews of the SS everywhere bit there isn't a single one. The only thing I could find is a video in Youtube of a dealership that has a red one in a storage room. He did start it up and it sounds glorious.

Now that the cars have arrived on US soil, maybe some will go to GM's press fleet and we'll start seeing some reviews.

Looks like a spare tire and sunroof are the only optional items.

V8; over 400 HP; massive RWD sedan, all the telematics goodies, tons of airbags, etc, etc,

before you say over priced, could you go check the price of a base 5 series or lexus GS?

So, exactly what are the colors that are missing from the SS? I tried to look on Holdens site but it won't let me build a car for some reason.

And no, it's not overpriced at all. G8 GXP was about $4k less with basically nothing in it. You got bluetooth and that was it. This is literally a loaded to the gills vehicle. Our Flex stickered over $46k but without the sweet drive train. Anyone that complains it's over priced hasn't been on a car lot in quite a few years.

Or the SRT twins. There's a section now that compares those and the SHO Taurus with the SS. While you do get more HP from the SRT cars, they're also listed at about $49k, so the SS would seem to be priced appropriately.

I think the biggest problem the SS has is the G8 that came before it, the G8's price point and the wrong comparisons people make with the SS to the G8 GT, when the more appropriate comparison is the GXP and the SS has a lot more stuff.

I can't really afford an SS right now, but that doesn't mean it's overpriced. I do wish it was more within my reach, though.

Re: Build and Price your SS!

I would still consider the Charger RT as the more direct competitor over the SRT models, which are faster than the SS. On an RT, you can choose AWD, fewer options, and a much lower price for very, very comparible performance such as 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. I won't bother with the styling comparison because that's way too subjective.

I will say that the SS looks very sporty in black and in red, and it sounds wonderful!
Buy American. Buy Ford. So say we all!

The only issue is that the R/T still lags in the fun to drive department. Even the track models are lacking that engaged feel. If it didn't I would be in one.

First thing I'd do if I bought an SS is powdercoat the wheels or get a new set entirely.

Is this the slowest, longest and dullest rollout of car ever?

^^ Yes Thank you! Those are awful! I think I would get the Holden ones because I've see some
    commodores with nice wheels.
