    Question Aveo Help?

    Hi,

I recently purchased an 04 Chevy Aveo Sedan it has the stock AM / FM stereo. I am going to purchase the AM/FM CD player that was salvaged from another 04 Aveo Sedan.

My question is does anyone have any information or removal of the old stereo and installation of the new one, I am not exactly good at these type of things so any info would help....

    Thanks,
    James

Well Im no tech or anything But the hardest part of the installation should be getting the old radio out. Since your swapping stock for stock I cant see there being any more wireing going into it, but again. Im no tech. I got some good advice on here, and its this. If it feels like its not supposed to come apart, chances are it wont, dont force things. I would look around online for a manual. Because Im sure you will be removing the dash, or parts of it and the center console.

So lets see. Toyota lied about recalls. Lied about their HP ratings... I wonder how much truth is in their milage ratings..

Your replacement stereo is from another Aveo, which is a very good thing. That will make the whole process that much easier. The wiring in your car will probably just plug right into the new stereo. Just make sure you don't break anything when you disconnect the wiring from the old stereo.

Now as to getting the old stereo out... I've never worked on an Aveo, so I can't tell you specifically what to do. Perhaps someone will step up with the info. The only advice I can give is take it slow when taking things apart to get to the stereo. If something doesn't seem to want to come loose, don't force it. There may be another screw or snap you missed. You don't want to wreck your interior components while doing this.
