Angry 2018 Equinox Premiere - Heated Seats not working on Remote Start

Just took delivery of car and the heated seats do not work during Remote Start.

Took it to the dealer and the service tech informed me that this is a problem on all 2018 Equinox cars.

GM is aware of the problem and is working on a solution.

That was a question, I was going to address with my dealership. Let's hope it gets fixed before the weather gets too cold.

How did you determine that the heated seats aren't working? Are you looking at the light or sitting in the seats? In the trucks, the seats do heat up, but the light does not illuminate. People were initially assuming that they weren't working because the light was off.

There has to be a settings in the extensive vehicle menu that they have not turned on.

This might work for the newer one

They may be working but not as you would expect. I have a Sonic and Regal and thought the same when I got them. Turns out they just activate at a VERY low setting during remote start. They don't necessarily feel warm when you get in them but they aren't ice cold either.

Literally every GM car I've had as a rental with the same feature felt about the same way. They just aren't the toasty warm you may want. But at least they still aren't ice cubes.

The seats do not heat up on Remote Start after 10 minutes or more. You have to be in the vehicle sitting in the seats and then turn the heated seat switches on.

Read the manual on pages 147-148 on programming your personal preferences.

Re: 2018 Equinox Premiere - Heated Seats not working on Remote Start

I took my 2018 Equinox Premiere for a software update to fix the 'Heated Seats not working on Remote Start'.
    They performed bulletin 17465.
Re-programed HVAC control module to correct no HVAC during autostart.
Will check tomorrow a.m. to see if problem fixed.
