The 2017 Chevy Car line-up. Where does it rank?

Where in Chevy's history does its 2017 car line-up rank?

    2017 car roster:

    2017 Spark
    2017 Sonic
    2017 Cruze sedan
    2017 Cruze hatch
    2017 Malibu/Malibu hybrid
    2017 Impala
    2017 Camaro/ZL1
    2017 Volt
    2017 Bolt
    2017 SS
    2017 Corvette/Grand Sport/Z06

Best Chevy car line-up ever? How does this line-up stack up against previous Chevy line-ups? I am going on 47 this may, and honestly believe this is far and away the best Chevy car line-up in my life, and that's even when considering how ot stacked up to its competitors of the era.

It can be argued that Each Chevrolet Sedan or Truck is in the top 4 of its segment if the top 2, depending on the buyer. They deserve consideration before one pulls the trigger on something.

Solidly competitive. No numerical ranking. Upper mid-pack at its worst.

I'm speaking to the 1980's and forward.... I think this is the strongest Chevy lineup in my life since I became interested in cars. However, perception needs to catch up, so this lineup may not correspond to the most sales in the same time frame. Really amazing, not a dud in the bunch.

Re: The 2017 Chevy Car line-up. Where does it rank?

In terms of quality, power, refinement, it is probably one of the best. As far as completeness, I'd venture to say Chevy still has some work to do. Not a single one offers AWD despite the platforms all being capable of supporting it. Bottom three cars offer a hatchback but that is the alternate body styles. For anything mid-size and up it is (mostly) which flavor of sedan do you want.

If Chevy offered AWD and additional body styles, we wouldn't get posts like: Where Is GM's Subaru Outback?

I would say line up + 9 out of 10 as there is no MINI VAN / affordable large family carrier
as for completeness of product I would say 7/10 for the LACK of AWD/ sporty models and common options NOT available OR limited to TOP trims
and I blame Buick for the second "ISSUE" and is FORCING GM to decontent CHEVY compared to FORD or even TOYOTA/HONDA

Very strong lineup, just make AWD available on more vehicles such as the Impala and Malibu in addition to more powerful drive train options like in the Malibu, Cruze and Trax. When the new Nox and Traverse come out teh lineup will be complete with best in class or fully competitive vehicles.

Re: The 2017 Chevy Car line-up. Where does it rank?

The only weakness, in my view, is the lack of sporty models. We need SS versions of the Sonic and Cruze, at least. Some folks would like sportiness and practicality. Hot hatches give you that. It is great to have the Camaro, the SS, and Corvette. But the only one of the three that is practical is the SS, but that has too steep of a pricetag, might as well get a V-6 ATS with the V-Sport packages, and get the luxury. I priced a V-6 ATS Premium with the V-Sport package, and only it is only barely more expensive than the SS, and unlike the SS it stands out in terms of style. So, if you are paying that price...

There is no reason Chevy can't produce great sporty versions of the Sonic and Cruze. Do that, and it would be the perfect line-up. And even if they didn't do an SS Malibu, they could still produce a Malibu Sport with the 2.0T and AWD.
I am on the border of genius and crazy. I keep trying to cross over into genius, but ICE keeps sending me back to the crazy side of the border.

This is a list that will vary immensely from person to person since "best" is a highly subjective term. A good lineup, maybe, yes, for your every day driver. Excitement, not so much. I know not everyone has the same criteria, but if I were to seriously shop car lines... less than 40% would get a glance out of me. Once again, this is highly subjective, but my idea for "best" year, is 1967, where I love 100% of the lineup.

Every car was at the top of their game, and all high on my "want" list (I have a 67 Camaro, my dad has a 67 Chevelle... I'm working on possibly getting a 67 Caprice wagon 327/4spd). Add on other cars in the GM lineup, all the A-bodies especially... GTO, GS, 442, and you have the most awesome cars to hit the street.

Granted, this is not a majority opinion. And why I don't get as passionate about new cars as the rest of you guys, and would rather rebuild old than have more than 1 new car at a time.

Well, the past can be a tough act to follow..... for any of them still around today.

Especially for Chevrolet and Ford Brand.....

The '60s or say '57 - '72 for Chevrolet are basically well nigh impossible - for anyone to match.

More importantly perhaps - as far as NA properly defined ( Canada and USA ), most likely the best even if in a worst case by a whisker - in the industry for an ostensibly non premium brand and also nicely matched to and for their related CUVs / SUVs and Trucks.

If they nailed all the impact protection scores with the newer stuff as per the Malibu Limited etc which seems very possible, and don't have some sort of epic recall fail which is unlikely, then the best, period.

With plenty of PT options and developments on hand for the future and for what they will look like three years from now.

    Good choice

    I would go with 1969.

As for today's line the only Chevrolet I would spend my own money on is the Impala and maybe the Sonic.

Take any GMC over a comparable Chevrolet Truck/SUV, prefer the Verano over Cruze, Challenger over Camaro and Accord over Malibu, not really a 'Vette guy (prefer performance sedans) although the Corvette is very competitive - just not something I would buy (not a Porsche or Viper buyer either).

That said, the 2017 Chevy lineup is a lot better than previous years and are far more competitive design wise (the "hard stuff") although they still struggle on too many models with "feature/price value" with competitors, if GM would only fix the "easy stuff" Chevrolet would sell even better.

I have to agree. Chevy ranks right up there near the top as best line up in years(ever). But I think the issue with AWD and sporty models is because Chevy is supposed to be "mainstream" and therefore not necessary in the minds of the powers that be just because they probably deem it a niche/specialty item. I do think that there is a de-contenting issue going on too because they have a system where certain things cant "overlap" because then they might "compete" and heaven forbid if that happened so to speak. All things considered I think they are very strong but it could be a bit better.
