2014 Impala seems to be selling well

I actually saw 4 on the way to work today (three Blacks and one White Diamond Tri-Coat)...its good they're selling a good number of high volume cars, so it'll give them more capital for "niche" vehicles like Code 130R or whatever.

If I had the money (and a bigger parking area), I'd certainly check it out...

The handsome styling would lend itself to a great looking coupe and wagon.
Buy American. Buy Ford. So say we all!

In just about every way it's a great car.

Kinda hard to tell how well it's selling, since GM doesn't break out the new-generation from the archaic-generation when posting sales numbers.

I hope Chevy does some serious thinking about the 2015 model year for this car, especially in base LS trim. I can understand offering it std with a 4 cylinder engine. I can understand that it won't have as much equipment as the higher trim levels. But come on guys! Some of the things that were eliminated or cut border on the seriously stupid route. Why in the world would you eliminate the left hand side storage cubby and change the assembly line to fit in a fake cover instead? Why remove the door for the upper section of the storage console? Why make the outside mirrors black instead of body color? This is your flagship not a 15k rental car. Also missing on the LS, rear air vents, leather steering wheel, one hidden exhaust instead of two, no wood tone trim (this I can understand in a base trim level), plastic fascia wheels and of course the larger powered touch screen with rear storage. There isn't even an overhead sun glasses holder on any trim level which is ludicrous. For the near 28k sticker, the LS trim level car leaves me cold because for similar or less coin a V6 Taurus SE or Charger SE with 8 speed transmission and 3.6 V6 can be had.

Car is a hit!! Even though they have the new rear drive SS how nice would it be if they drop in the twin turbo V6 from the XTS V Sport all wheel drive and come out with a new Impala SS. That may get me interested in one!!

Re: 2014 Impala seems to be selling well

I've had my LS since August now -- covered about 6,700 miles. Not too bothered about the storage items or the black side mirrors -- in a way I prefer this to the rather blingy looking LTZ. I do like manual heat and A/C and cloth seats -- not sure why they are considered down-market in the U.S. The one complaint I do have is headlight performance. Compared to the lights on my wife's 2003 Malibu these are poor dull light and very little to the sides to illuminate pedestrians. The car is due for its first oil change next week so I'll have them checked out then.

Overall it's a great car -- does what it does very well.

I like the 2014 Impala but just can't figure out why GM still has "TBD" for the vehicle weight. I have not been able to find the weight to this day, strange.

It's a great looking car! In Vegas I haven't seen one, literally not one.

    Anecdotal topic is anecdotal.

C&D's Impala LT 2.5L weighed 3700 lbs (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...lt-test-review) and their Impala 3.6L weighed 3800 (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...d-test-reviews). Not bad considering the weight of the somewhat smaller LaCrosse.
