    2009 Saturn Vue Wires

I have a 2009 Saturn Vue XR. I recently had the car on a lift changing the brakes when I noticed a wire bundle in the right rear (passenger side) in the wheel well that had 4 wires that had somehow been severed. There are two black wires, a brown/white wire and a purplish wire. I checked all lights in the rear and they all appear to be working well. I can't find anything electrical that is not working.

I would disconnect the battery and splice the wires back together but I a bit puzzled why there are two black wires - with no idea to figure out which wire gets connected to the other. I am afraid that this is some sensor that could cause something bad to happen - like airbags going off.

    1. Does anyone know what this wire bundle does. 2. Does it matter which black wires are spliced together and if it does matter is there a way to test the wires to make sure of a proper connection.

    Thanks!

Nothing to do with air bags. Where does the wiring lead in the front?
Are you the original owner of this vehicle? Has it ever had a collision in the rear or on this side?
