2006 Impalas look ready - with prod. pics

Well, this is a shot from yesterday evening at the Impala plant. Looks like they're starting to roll them off the line in quantity now. Although you can't see most of them, there were about 350 cars when I took this pic. I drove by again a few hours after this picture was taken and there were about 500 cars at that point.

Second pic, that black SS looks pretty good. The wheels don't look as bad from this angle.

I saw one near my house. I took some pictures, but they didn't turn out very well

But I suppose they won't update the website yet until the employee discount is done because they want to clear out the 05's. Its amazing how dated the 05's have gotten in the last half a year or so.

Were there any 05's around the plant?

This thread must have slipped up on me. I never have seen it until now!

Gladd to see that the new Impala's are ready to head to the dealers. This should boost Chevrolet.

I want to take a drive down by there now. It's not too far away. It's getting dark out so it's not like I'll be able to see anything.

ZillaZ, great job with all the pics you've been contributing! Keep it up!

There must be some out early. I have seen two in Kalamazoo and one in Coldwater Michigan. The SS looks really good but the LT seemed to blend in more on the highway. I hope Chevrolet sells a ton of them. Best selling car for 06?

Quick question that's always bugged me: why do cars come with plastic wrapped on them when shipped to dealers? I've always wondered that. My 300 was like that and so was the XL-7. The G35, however, was purchased from the dealer lot.

2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara Luxury. Black onyx pearl. Beige leather. 4WD. Chrome hood vents, mirror covers, exhaust. Silver grille, taillight trim. Brushed metal bumper protector. Running boards.

    Various reasons:
    1. To protect the finish on a part that may come in contact with workers frequently. Like when you get your oil changed and they put that mat over the side of your car so thier buttons and stuff don't scratch your paint.
    2. To help protect the finish from debris as they are transported by train and hauler to dealers.
    3. To protect the finish as dealers install pre-delivery components (running boards and other accessories).

I haven't noticed, the shipping yard is on the other side of the plant where I rarely drive by. I'll check it out though... I've noticed there is another lot full of 06s now. I bet they're still trying to unload the 05s but I'll see what's in the normal shipping yard.

I think the 500 looks out of proportion, because of the high roofline, and the low door handles it just doesn't look right to me.

That parking lot is the size of several football fields and it was full the other day. I been seeing them driving the cars into and out of the lot the past week. They are all Impalas and no Monte Carlos, I guess they are tweaking the Monte.

Ya, I wonder what's up with the Monte. I've seen one of them in the Pilot staging area (directly across the street from Macs on Park Rd). You can really only see the side of it, otherwise I'd take a picture.
