1996 Chevrolet Beretta production numbers and 0-60 times

Does anyone know what the production numbers were for the Beretta in its last year? Also, does anyone have the 0-60 times handy for the 3100 V6 in that year model? A buddy of mine used to have one brand new and it seemed really quick for a little V6 coupe for the era. His was maroon with the burgundy cloth interior and 4 speed auto. He ended up trading it in around 1999 or so on a black Plymouth Neon. Yeah, I know. (I have to admit though, he kept that Neon for quite awhile. He ruthlessy beat on it and it never game up outside of the a/c and radio.)

Without Buick, GM never would have existed.

I dunno if this helps but...a 3.1L/3 speed Beretta GT was like neck and neck with my Reatta until about 80, where the Beretta started running out of steam and the personal luxury two seater permanently pulled away

I had a 1996 Corsica sedan which is basically the same car and similar weight with the 3100 and required 4 speed automatic. It was a pretty consistent 7.8 second 0-60 car.

Seems a little too quick for a Corsica, I dont remember how fast they were back then, when I first sold cars, I worked at a Cheverolet dealership the last year the Beretta/Corsica were still around, though I never really demoed one to anyone in the 6 months I was there, we were selling ton of the re-designed Cavaliers and no one was even looking at the Berettas, we had one base white with a red interior Beretta and a purple Z26 Beretta on the lot. I think we only had like 2 Corsicas too.

Interesting. A girlfriend of mine had a Corsica but I believe it had the 4 cylinder. It was slow as molasses. I drove it once or twice and told her to get a new car. She bought a base model V-6 Firebird after that... haha

My girlfriend has a '95 Corsica 2.2 actually..currently with a bad head gasket that's leaking externally. It has enough power but certainly isn't fast. Rather unrefined sound too

Bwahaha look at the gas gauge

3.1L seems to have some punch

Always liked the sound of those engines with a bad muffler, which they always seemed to have...

LOL even the "verkehr safety" Dutch (and rare european-model Corsica!)

It was a 2800 LB car with a 3100 V6 and 155-160 hp and 185 torque tied to a 4 speed automatic and 2.93 gearing. When new and green it was a 8.3-8.4 second car but when it had around 20K miles the engine loosened up noticeably and it would easily fire off 7.8 second times. A new 3200 LB Cruze with but 138 HP and 148 torque can do 60 in 8.5-8.6 seconds with a 6 speed so a lighter car with more power and torque should easily be an under 8 second car despite the transmission handicap.

Rented one, once. Slow. The name didn't fit the car.
    85 cars since 1975....
    Good night and good luck.
