    Exclamation 1995 Cavalier electrical question

Hey i have a 1995 Cavalier and for the longest time now my day time running lights have not been working. The indicator light is constantly flashing.

I have done the obvious things - light bulb change, check all fuses/relays and can not determine the problem. Now i know most newer cars have a daytime light running module but i've been told that on a 1995 cavalier their is no such module but i have also been told that it is located behind the instrument cluster.

Also, does anyone know of where i could find an electrical wiring diagram of the light system.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

The first area i would check is under the battery. There is a connector that sometimes gets corroded from battery acid etc.You most likely have a circuit that is broken/corroded.The connector has about 20 wires going to it.It is # C101.I would pay close attention to circuit #740 orange wire.

The drl module is located on the inside of the impact bar in the front bumper.

But I'm leaning toward wiring as being the problem as lynch said. Take out the driver side headlight and check all the wiring in that area especially the orange ones.

i will be cheking the wiring as soon as the weather here gets a bit nicer. Are you 100% sure that they 1995 has a module in that location? I'm pretty familiar with that area having changed the rad and what not. The front impact bar only has the DRL relay on it and ive tested it and it is working correctly.

I am pretty sure that the Cavalier only uses a DRL relay.I have a 1998 schematic, but i should be the same.

I couldn't find a module located anywhere on the schematic either. It is the relay that is on the impact bar, my bad.

The Cavalier we worked on was a 98 as well. All 4 beams were on but reduced to being just barely lit and the DRL indicator kept flashing.

I know it is so frustrating when they move **************** on cars.I am just remembering the last junk ass Cavalier i worked on for a DRL problem. That wiring under the battery is allways where you will find a broken wire.usually the orange one for the headlamps.
