The Continetal is pretty for certain. It looks far more stately, in its exterior, then its price comoetitor, the Cadillac XTS, but the new XTS (wanna see more pics) is finally attractive and has a more exotic look. The CT6 blows them both away on the exterior in terms of sexiness and sheer presence (I've seen multiple CT6's and Contis down here in Savannah, GA). The Conti punches up, but still misses in comparison to the CT6.

On interior, the XTS is most pleasant to look at for its serene beauty, the Conti rides a fine line between eye-popping and gaudy, the CT6 could use more drama, its interior does not evoke the same sense of presence its exterior does. It"s not unattractive. In fact, it is quite nice to look at. Its just that it doesn't match the level of sophistication that is apparent in its exterior or its remarkable construction A car built with such cutting edge techniques deserved better.

But as a one-for-one comparison with the Conti? That just depends on taste. But having seen the interior up close and personal, it is evident that the CT6 employs higher quality materials than the Conti in this review (haven't seen the Conti interior up close in person yet).

If it comes down to driving dynamics, the CT6 clearly wins. But I don't think maxing out on a black label Conti would make you a loser. A 2018 XTS wouldn't look bad in the Conti's price range either. So, I might sound Oprahish, but... You get a win! And you get a win! And you get a win!

I am on the border of genius and crazy. I keep trying to cross over into genius, but ICE keeps sending me back to the crazy side of the border.

That's the first time I've seen that wheel that's on the CT6 Platinum in the video. Not too bad looking. It's still not close to the look of the Escala's wheels, but it's better than most of Cadillac's wheel choices.

The CT6 and Continental are different enough to attract completely different buyers,
if you prefer a more sports and performance drive then the CT6 is for you and for those
who lke a more traditional American boulevard ride then the Continental is a nice version of that.

I see no losers here, just two very good examples of how Cadillac and Lincoln are going after
Euro brands with cars that seek out buyers who are open to trying something different.

Speaking on that I was thinking the other day how far Cadillac has come in such a short ten years going from a FWD DTS to the CT6 as their largest car.

As far as Continental vs CT6 they are two completely different cars for two different types of buyers. I will say the CT6 Platinum has a very firm ride compared to the lower end CT6 and I don't feel you lose a ton of handling prowess by selecting a non Platinum car either.

Debatable, considering the CT6 is not known for using high grade materials. I'd like to compare a Platinum to Black Label back to back.

They are two different flavors, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. If you want something more sporty, then definitely get the CT6, if you want something more comfortable then go with the Conti'. Choice is good, and to have two competent luxury products coming out of Detroit is awesome and long overdue. The next Gen of each should be the frosting on the cake.
