    I wish Tesla luck.
To build in America GM has to deal with a corrupt union. Tesla does not.

That's exactly right and an elephant in the room for those with myopia. You could say the corrupt self-centered suicidal/homicidal greedy beyond belief UAW--members and brass--could push GM to critical mass at some point.

You COULD say that. I never would of course.

GM choses to hire UAW members and to sign contracts with the UAW.

Re: Tesla Micky Mouse cyber pick-up truck LOL

A lot of people are ignoring price in this equation. With a theoretical starting price of $30K less than the declared competition, it is a bit easier for me to see the excitement here. I don't like the looks, but that is subjective. What I love is the starting price for the Y. There are several people intrigued with EVs that either cant afford to get into one or are not impressed with current options (Bolt and Leaf are horrible looking). Trucks appeal to more people because they can be so many things in one package - size/safety, luxury, utility, family haulers, etc.

So if Tesla can deliver a TRUCK at this opening price point, they will snag some buyers outside of the Tesla cult. Rivian looks better to a majority of people, but for a minimum of $29K more.

Now to see where GM lands in this mix...
    Current Vehicles:
    1999 Tahoe 4x4 - daily driver
    1999 Camaro Z28 - bolt-on weekend vehicle
    2015 Equinox LTX - wife's car

Don't get suckered in by Tesla's "price".
It'll cost as much as the Rivian by the time it gets here, if it ever gets here.
The base model... it'll be good for bringing home a load of lightweight beard care products or balsa wood.
That's about it. I wonder if they'll throw in a Blaupunkt?

I don't like the looks, but that is subjective.
I can see buying something that I think is ugly for less than $5K. I like cheap as much as the next guy.
    But $40K??? No %&^*# way.

What I love is the starting price for the Y.
If you qualify for tax credits, the Mach-E is going to be a lot cheaper than the Model Y.
If you wait a little while for the inevitable Ford discount it'll be a LOT cheaper.

(Bolt and Leaf are horrible looking)
    And this isn't?

They look like they got their idea from the Stealth Bomber or something in that vein.

Looks like what you would wind up with if you tried to build a car yourself out of plywood.

It's purely a concept and potentially vaporware with a nebulous 3-year production timeline. It was designed with no constraints and safety regulations will have allot more to say about the final design. Tesla's ambiguity on this product and the fact they only have ONE vehicle tells me they have allot of hurdles to overcome if they are ever going to make this fantasy a reality.

Well I guess Dodge, GM and Ford have nothing to worry about.
