Maybach Nameplate May Return on New S-Class

Reports suggest with “high probability” that the name could be applied to special versions of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class flagship sedan, perhaps a long-wheelbase or maybe even a Pullman model.

The long-wheelbase version of the car is expected to feature 2+2 seating, but the Pullman could go for a triple-duce arrangement, 2+2+2. Of course at this point nobody knows for certain, it could seat a dozen people, party-bus style in chairs made from wicker.

Another vote for wicker here. And none of that robot built stuff, I want handmade, grandma's drinking sweet tea chairs.

If at first you don't succeed.......

    "Maybach". German for "Brougham".

The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity. "

Lets see..........they couldn't hardly give away the Maybach when it was still in production. Now they redesign the S class to look like a Maybach, and even want to maybe name a version of it, the Maybach. Don't they understand the term "beating a dead horse"?
side note: After having dealt with Mercedes and BMW's when I was a service manager, I can only imagine what a nightmare this new S class is going to be with all its electronic gizmos. The electronic systems in those cars were horrible for reliability.

Re: Maybach Nameplate May Return on New S-Class

it did not sell the first time around. how do they expect it to sell again? i think the mercedes name is more known and prestigious already. if a dictator showed up in a mercedes S class, it would have the same effect as if he showed up in a maybach

So what's new? It's been this way since the early '90's.
A VP here had an airbag light on his E-Class that they couldn't figure out how to turn off.
He fixed it by trading it in on another E-Class... probably his best option since who's gonna want an MB with an unfixable electrical issue?
