Ford needed to get this right. These teething issues can’t be good. You wonder how all of this was green lit?

Ford does dreadful product launches but then gets on top of issues
and not a peep is heard when they finally get fixed.

They'll get past it, but a bigger issue is the poor reviews I've read so far.

Fixed the headline: "Ford's earnings expected to be dented by Explorer transition"

Ford expected the Chicago Plant to be down in 2019 by 52,000 units, due to the transition......... wind-down, re-tool and ramp-up.

“Dreadful product launches”is a huge understatement lol. Customers and dealers are complaining of leaking sunroofs, transmission and height adjustable suspensions (aviator) throwing error codes, non-functioning a/c and numerous trim and body fitting issues.

You make ford sound like the victim because not a peep is said when the problems are remedied. Well the majority of manufacturers get their vehicles launched without a peep of QC issues so ford did this to themselves and really pooched these models. Pity the consumer who’s already taken delivery of these flops

The previous Explorer had problems throughout lifetime.

Taurus and Flex gone contribute a lot to that decline.

AutoNews.com is reporting that roving groups of employees at the Chicago Explorer plant are intimidating other employees: https://www.autonews.com/retail/ford...-back-hot-seat

I wonder how many people will NEVER buy an Explorer due to the vehicle problems and employee misconduct?

If true, this is quite damning. Why would employees do that, and how can there be no oversight?

Can't read it. "You've reached your limits." Dang.

    Really?
Because nobody can ever be fired.
Because there is a certain thug element in the UAW, look at the top thugs if you really do wonder about that.
    Management is probably intimidated.

The best thing for the UAW members AND the makers AND the customers would be for the UAW to dissolve. Unfortunately, like all gangs, they're deeply rooted and it would take a federal task force--if any of them can be trusted any more--to investigate prosecute and break up.

Reading the article paints a mental picture of gangs running around with clubs and brass knuckles, etc.. My guess is that is the Hollywood version and reality is much more tame, a couple of guys were on the way to get a doughnut and harassed a person or two. Probably not very widespread.
