That is rather stunning, considering Dodge history. I guess offering fewer and fewer models and building the same cars forever has benefits.
Drives a 2019 Cadillac ATS Coupe and a 1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA.

In the past, I've had a 5th gen Camaro, a CTS sedan and coupe, two 3rd gen Firebird Formulas, a convertible 4th gen Trans Am, a Reatta, a couple of Monte Carlos, an Avenger coupe, a couple of Cavalier hatchbacks, a Saturn SC1, and a Cherokee.

Chevrolet doesn't get nearly enough credit for its recent scores in both initial and long-term quality. Third place, ahead of Toyota, Honda and Ford.

I'm thinking the same damned thing.

Then again it makes the Challenger more attractive. I wouldn't mind owning one forever.

I'd say congrats to everyone above the industry average, which includes all GM brands including Caddy, notably not Benz, BMW, or Audi. Personally I'm more interested in their 3 year reliability study, this is initial quality, but hey I'll take it.

This has nothing to do with reliability.
All it means is that it has a good infotainment interface.

In 2020 "quality" surveys have pretty much jumped the shark.
There's little to nothing to report in the way of actual issues, so this is what it's come down to.

Re: Dodge shocks with top overall quality marks from J.D. Power

    I'll just leave this here:

"Chevrolet Sonic achieves the best score of any model: The Chevrolet Sonic, with just 103 PP100, has the best score of any model in this year’s study."

Sonic hasn't changed much recently. If they still made a stick shift, I'd trade my 2015 for a 2020.

On the other end of the scale, Tesla gets an unofficial 250--the worst score on the list.

"Tesla profiled for first time: Tesla receives an initial quality score of 250 PP100. The automaker is not officially ranked among other brands in the study as it doesn’t meet ranking criteria. "

The survey changed substantially vs 2019 as noted in the excerpt below. In 2019 the industry average was 93 with Genesis in first place at 63 and Kia second at 70 and Jag at the bottom with 130. Now the average is 166, best finish is 136 and worst is 220. So some of these changes could explain large drops or increases in a brand as the new sections or questions might favor or disfavor a brand vs. the old survey.

    https://www.jdpower.com/business/pre...lity-study-iqs

The 2020 U.S. Initial Quality Study is based on responses from 87,282 purchasers and lessees of new 2020 model-year vehicles who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership. The study, which provides manufacturers with information to facilitate the identification of problems and drive product improvement, was fielded from February through May 2020.

The 2020 redesign marks the fifth generation of the study, which is now based on a 223-question battery organized into nine vehicle categories: infotainment; features, controls and displays; exterior; driving assistance (new for 2020); interior; powertrain; seats; driving experience; and climate.

I wish they'd correlate their initial quality with 3 year quality to see how well initial quality predicts 3 year. Initial quality can help you decide what car to buy, but the three year may not help much in buying a new car as there's a solid chance the car has been redesigned, therefore the 3 year quality is based on a different car. And even year to year changes can negate the results.

I like the Challenger and Charger a lot. If they keep selling well enough, keep building them.

Thanks for posting the pages gkr!!

CT5 as best in its class? Justifies my decision to buy 🤣How many responses could they have gotten on this after selling 3k I think in Q1. And since it’s 90 days of ownership not all those would qualify.

That's pretty impressive for a brand new model.
