2020 Lincoln Aviator Fuel Economy Released

    https://www.cnet.com/google-amp/news...-cadillac-xt6/

When a car is more efficient, less expensive and more powerful than its also-new competition, that sounds like a pretty good start. Lincoln should have plenty to celebrate this week, then, now that fuel economy numbers are out for the base-trim 2020 Aviator.

According to newly published EPA figures, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator in base, rear-wheel drive trim is rated at 18 miles per gallon city, 26 mpg highway and 21 combined. It's still more expensive than your average vehicle, which is why the EPA estimates that Aviator owners will spend $2,250 more in fuel costs over five years when compared to the average new car.

Uh...oh...the narrative is already being set and neither are available to purchase. Cadillac is in serious trouble here...underpowered, under-capable, and not as fuel efficient. So...tell me why should anyone take the Cadillac lifted minivan vs the Aviator? If it had some kind of tech that Lincoln didn't...like SuperCruise maybe, but seeing how that ain't happnin' year 1 like Mary said, Lincoln is going to initially get more butts in seats than Caddy. I tell you this, the Escalade better freaking bring it or the brand is in deep doo-doo.

Based entirely on principle, nobody should buy the Cadillac.

Now the Lincoln is RWD while the Cadillac is FWD, so what's the new excuse? DUHHH IPAD DASH? The only criticisms you can levy at the Lincoln, at this point, are entirely subjective—and will come off as sour grapes, when reality is staring you right in the face.

The Cadillac looks low-rent, asymmetrical, old, and cheap. And if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck—it's a duck.

Lincoln has a three-fer over Cadillac with their last three big debuts: Navigator vs Escalade, Aviator vs XT6, and Corsair vs XT4. New Escalade, sure, but new Navigator, too. If the latest debuts by Cadillac are indicative of their future debuts, Escalade will not move the bar.

Cadillac has rapidly found themselves in a position where they must PROVE they are the preeminent American luxury brand over Lincoln, because they're certainly not the obvious choice anymore.

If this is correct, it's just been since 2007.

Right you are sir, that Lincoln looks like a proper SUV while the Sadillac *(sic) looks like a made over modernized station wagon from years gone by.

Lmao wait until y'all start seeing the XT6 on the road. They're even uglier in person. Couple that with a ****ty interior, sky-high price tag, and lack of power, and (drumroll please) we have....

Well, Lincoln seems like they have a superior product, Cadillac needs to share its SUV platforms with Buick to get RWD products with their electric roll out.

I just can't believe that a SUV with 400/400 gets 26 MPG highway.

The hybrid is the interesting one.

How long will it take for the "lease for $349 per month with $3,500 down" lease specials take? 6 months? A year?

XT5 has been whored out for the $299 a month special for about 2 years now. Interestingly enough, XT4 hasn't gotten a good lease program yet, which I feel makes sense because it's actually good car, and people are willing to pay for it.

But like you said, the $349 a month deals will be here soon for XT6.

I'm jealous. People in the Detroit metro region get super cheap leases. Those of us in Pennsylvania pay an arm and a leg.

Yeah leases here are dirt cheap. But don't worry, we make up the difference with sky-high insurance rates and horrible roads.

I've gone through like 7 tires on my CTS at $300 a pop. That's $2,100, which equates to almost $60 per month on my 36 month lease.
