I think it's a nice looking car, though I did hope it would be a little more on the edgy side. I kind of feel like Caddy is starting to blend in a bit more with the Mercs and BMW's. While it's not always a bad thing I wish they would try to stand out a little more in design. I have no doubt the performance will be there though.

Absolutely stunning Caddy. Best looking car GM has put out in the last 40+ years in my opinion. That front end is killer and the interior is classy, hi tech and sophisticated all in one. Love it!

Where are the turn signals in the front, or are the LED DRL's going to turn amber and flash?

The long low hood has amazing detail as it wraps design to the front facia. It's quite exotic in how low the hood is ...how long the hood is compared to the greenhouse.

It's giving the appearance of a low cowl height offering greater visibility but also exotic car looks.

Mr Welburn's design team hits another home run!

    Stunning beauty

It's fun to watch the transition from the first CTS's art & science to the more mature Ciel based art & science. Very well done!

    1) Buick is executing well as of late with its tweener strategy. However, I'm wondering if the Opel drama will affect future execution, and I also wonder how long Buick managers will tolerate their piggy bank being raided to pay for Cadillac development. The reason for downmarket movement is not market share at all, but profitability. A $40,000 Lacrosse is a money-making machine, where a $40,000 ATS is a money pit.

    2) I think Mercedes has actually been doing a lot better since the mid 1990's on the lower-end of their price range. The new C-Class is definitely the best ever in a variety of ways, and may become even more compelling once Mercedes remembers what a color is. A C63 in that rich Cadillac blue currently available on the ATS/CTS? Quite the looker.

Cadillac has almost completely deemphasized the wedge shape with this car.

Agreed, and I think that's the main reason why the car looks so much more grown-up.

The angular art & science has been toned to appeal more to the Chinese market. The stately presence and mature Mercedes vibe is probably all intended to appeal to the Chinese and other international market. It also has the Chrysler 300 resemblance in the front...

Re: 2014 CTS Fully Revealed (Updated)

As a current CTS owner in the market soon for a replacement, I'm not excited. The front end looks ok. I prefer the current style headlights instead of this new squinty version Cadillac is using. The grill and hood are nice, I like how the wreath is now tucked up into the chrome trime. The rear door back is horrible. It arcs down too fast. I much prefer the current CTS that (at least appears to have) a shorter fall to a higher deck lid. The rearend in general is very boring, especailly those mundane tail lights.

With the rear deck on this car so high up, it makes it look too much like the old DTS which instantly equals old man cruiser. The currrent CTS definitely has the aggresive sport sedan vibe, while this is more highway/country club cruiser.

    The interior is great.

This makes the XTS totally irrelevant in my opinion. Unless you are dying for FWD. My 65 year-old Father-in-law will like this car, but he will probably prefer the XTS because he likes FWD for the winter.

If they would raise the rear deck up about 4-6 inches, I would like it a lot more and buy it. Right now I am undecided until I get more pricing info and some performance specs.

Also... just saw the 8 speed will be on all powertrains, the article posted here a few days ago said the 3.6 would get the 6 speed still. I am interested to see how the 2.0 does in this vehicle.

I need to see one in person to decide for sure, but, I'll probably like it. Still don't like the headlight nacelles that run halfway down the front fender, Would like the grille to be angled a bit farther back but at least it doesn't look as massive as the previous one. Interior looks busy but well done.
