    That's my point exactly.

People seem to think that a Cruze Coupe that looks like the sedan will be cheaper to make, but it won't. That Civic coupe shares not even the front fenders as the shape of the turn signal lights is even slightly different and the height of the crease line is different meaning a separate pressing. I can only see the hood and front windscreen being shared. If that's the case, if you are going to stamp an all new body that happens to only LOOK like the sedan, but not share hardly anything with it, then why not change up it's styling in the process?

Why compromise the coupe-ness of it just to make it more sedan-ish when it does not need to be? I think this is the same thinking that causes Automakers to make all their cars 'look' alike with the same grill and headlight treatment on everything. It's this whole mistaken notion of 'branding'. They think it helps them sell more but I think this ONLY works on very high-end vehicles, if even then.

Chevy sold more cars back in the day when every model and every year or so of every model looked nothing alike. People in the 50's and 60's liked their new models to look new - meaning different. And they liked to be able to buy a Mustang coupe that did not look like the Falcon sedan it was based upon. That is what I propose here, Cruze is to the Falcon; so make Cobalt (or Monza) as to the Mustang coupe version of it....

    Lets see:

    Hot looking coupe? Check
    AWD? Check
    340 HP Engine? Check
Loaded with a quality interior/technology? Check
    Good Price? Check

If GM made this car I would buy it, it's everything I could ever want.

In fact I want mine to look just like this:

But let me guess it will never happen, right?

Some great cars. Those would definitely get me in a Chevy showroom. However, I think Monza is the right name for the coupes, either standalone or as a Cruze Monza.

The Cruze coupe and convertible are HOT. Very nice work.

Hatch yes, not sure on wagon.
Hatch will be built in South Australia, guessing wagon will come from South Korea.

As a cobalt SS driver and fanatic I can tell you that the coupe lives a completely different life than the sedan. There is a huge following for the coupe and cobalt name that it would greatly benefit chevy for them to retain the cobalt name for the coupe.

Re: Want a next gen Cobalt Coupe, Convertible and SS-R ?

i was just at a chevy dealer this past friday and was talking to the sales person there. We were both thinking how GM doesnt have a competitor for honda accord coupe and toyota camry solara, I completely understand where the camaro stands and its pretty competitive but then again a FWD Couple is also needed. and since they have the camaro in the $22k-38k range, i think a Cruze Coupe would not be a bad idea after all. Just not with the name cobalt. it should be a Cruze Coupe. This will let high school kids their first car (atleast for the ones who get a new car with a driving license) and also for a reason that there is a market for FWD Coupes.

The chrome accent line below is a true sweepspear, and should be a line that curves 'down' from the front of the vehicle and then curves up and over the rear wheel. If the accent line on my Cobalt curved down to the beginning of the arching curve up over the rear wheel it would be a sweepspear. But as a straight line and then the separate arching line over the rear wheel it's just a 'hip' line
Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Either way I still love the design of this Cobalt. This car needs to be in the dealers along size the Cruze sedan when it launches (which should have been over a year ago).
