Played around with the configurator briefly and confirmed my point, I only saw 2 wheel styles, the Trident, and Open Spoke I think. Not really fond of either style, they look like something off a FWD midsized car to me. And yeah, like NoStopN, different finishes don't mean a different wheel to me. Of course this is one thing I like with the C6 over the C7 and now C8... I do not like the FWD looking, positive offset wheels. This is why the C6 Grand Sport is still the Vette I plan to buy someday, just off the style alone.

Yep, beat me to it. There may have been 3, but I thought I saw 2.

Re: Rate the 2020 Corvette exterior design

I gave it a 9. I like the design a lot, and that it is a Corvette, but it is a little derivative due to its mid-engine layout. Wonderful execution, with the rear being the weakest view.
The crowd at the introduction gasped when the pricing was announced, then cheered.
A long time coming, but Wow, just WOW!!!
I'm guessing the base price will move up to $70,000 in a year or so, as it becomes a sellout at that price. Dealers will stick a $10k additional profit on it, then GM will raise the price.
a Ford GT at $450,000 will sell to only wealthy Ford enthusiasts.

Re: Rate the 2020 Corvette exterior design

    I gave it a 9...2 things i didn't like both easily fixable.

    1. Base Z51 spoiler, doesn't look right at all, the tall spoiler is much better
    2. All the wheel designs suck, go aftermarket...I'd get a set of Niche Misanos in black

I am looking at this poll and I am wondering who voted 2 out of 10 and why? Just curious.

I wouldn't be opposed to 4 round tail light. Just sayin'.....

Chevy may well raise the price, don't think 10K though. They bumped the price of the C7 after the first year as I recall. But if you know someone who wants one with a dealer who wants to add profit, have them contact one of the big vette dealers. There is courtesy delivery which lets you buy from one of the big guys and deliver to another. The big guys are not tacking on "dealer fees" and are selling at MSRP.

As to the 2/10, this is GMI, I can't believe there aren't any 1's yet.

Overall it looks great. I really hope the overall execution is a sign of things yet to come from GM and its other divisions. There is nothing half assed on this car, which is nice to see.

1 thing i'd point out that is sorta half assed is it doesn't appear that there is any active aero on this car. That's about it. We'll probably see it down the line in the Z06 or ZR1 but that is my only hyper-negative nitpick, but then again it's only $60k to start so you cant really fault it for not having Active Aero.

I like the previous Corvette because it was more sedate. I do not want to be driving something like a Lambo or Ferrari

I saw a black one with M plates (manufacturer) on it tonight, and my thoughts were it is still so obviously a Corvette! In a world of SUVs, Priuses, and all other crud; when I saw it, it was "Holy Shirt, a C8!"

Not sure you could ask for much more. It's different, but you KNOW what it is instantly. THAT should be the goal. It is not supposed to blend. It is not supposed to be "like" anything else on the road. They hit the mark.

I gave it a 9, but I don't give 10s out very much. On the road, it is gorgeous.
