That's right. I've never been a performance junkie, so what, I'm fine being that way and being a tightwad too.

I found that the low wing in the configurator comes in the Z51 package. If that's the only way to get it in a real car, I'll spend a little extra.

There are many like it, but this one is mine. Pretty lame that you can't get an engine cover painted to match the calipers!

I just went back and played around a little more. That Z51 package spoiler does seem to help balance out the look of the car some. I'm one of those who tends to not like outrageous spoilers, fairings and the like.

Re: Rate the 2020 Corvette exterior design

As the first Mid-Engine Corvette it is a 10 but gave it a 9.

Great job, but there is always room for improvement (only reason not a 10).

Design Staff should be very proud of their Corvette C8.

Can't wait to see how they improve a great design (sure that they will).

Have to say that is the color I am most interested in seeing in person.

This is the perfect example of styling being a subjective feeling. I loved the C7 ever since the first pictures came out. I still get to play video games on occasion & the C7 models have just been great to see on virtual race tracks (& roads). I can't wait for the video game world to get the C8 onto TV screens. The C8 took an overnight stint to go from "that looks good" to "I want one" for me. With that being said, let's pour one out for the C7 (shall I say, the C7.R):

Considering how much owners & tuner shops love to modify the LS/LT family of engines, I wouldn't be surprised if the engine cradle can be dropped fairly easily. Just watch out for those damned torque-to-yield bolts.

The Fiero was designed as a budget, fun 2 seat sports car (*cough*Solstice*cough), not a cheap Ferrari. The fact that some Fieros caught fire & didn't have the power to back up the sleek styling helped to doom sales & further development for the car.

An Omega Impala would be a wet dream come true. But, they just wouldn't sell. [/sarcasm] Oh, wait....

That is the best plastic engine cover I've ever seen. The aftermarket needs to come out with varying other styles for owners of other cars & trucks. Basically for any other vehicle that uses an LS/LT engine.

Back on topic, thank you Corvette Museum:

That Blue is my favorite with Z51 Pkg, Red Engine Cover, Edge Red Calipers and LT2 Neutral interior.

I do like the "Classic" look of the White one with the Red Seats, iconic combination and of course who doesn't like a Red Corvette.

More proof of why the Small Block is so popular and such a great engine!

That performance and price point come from the same place - the engine bay and to me is what makes a Corvette a "Corvette".

Re: Rate the 2020 Corvette exterior design

    I think they've done a fantastic job.

I like it, but the mid-engine proportions do take some getting used to. To be honest, I prefer the 7th gen, but I'm sure the 8th will grow on me. That isn't to say that I don't think the C8 is really, really good. My tastes just prefer front engine, rear drive proportions.
Drives a 2019 Cadillac ATS Coupe and a 1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA.

In the past, I've had a 5th gen Camaro, a CTS sedan and coupe, two 3rd gen Firebird Formulas, a convertible 4th gen Trans Am, a Reatta, a couple of Monte Carlos, an Avenger coupe, a couple of Cavalier hatchbacks, a Saturn SC1, and a Cherokee.

Another real interesting and IMO beautiful color is that Accelerate Yellow. That would get peoples attention.

Can't afford one and considering my buying habits, job, and lifestyle there would be a lot of the eye raising if I could ever have something like it. That said and like I pointed out in another thread about retired people and these, there's always the used market coming up. There's an older retired guy who bought brand new the outgoing one and he never hardly uses it, it just sits in the garage getting polished and admired I think.
Sad Sad news. The guy mentioned in this post, passed away a couple of days ago. Family is up from Nevada at his place probably going through things the last couple of days.

Tried it in silver with center stripes and red brakes for a splash of color, looks very cool. IMO base wheels look great with pale colors silver/white/etc. Not sure if this link will work:
