Because Corvette isnt a Ford. Like Corvette Mustang has a built in enthusiast base that isn’t jumping sides easily. Camaro isn’t immune to that unfortunately since Vette is on the same team. And the problem isn’t the V6 Camaro, it’s the ZL1 and well equipped 1LE cars. Camaro is done, sadly.

In that case the Mustang buyers are stupid - no? Ponycars are a different market no matter how much you try to say it isn't so.

It's hard to make an exotic that doesn't cost exotic pricing with exotic materials and engineering, it will never be as alluring. So it will be an interesting thing to watch unfold. Detroit is very good at making things cheaper and more reliable (don't laugh, it's true!), but it has a harder time making NEW cultural icons that don't rely on strict adherence to tradition and they tend to struggle when they try to imitate other icons.
I agree completely. The C8 is very derivative and from a purely design perspective, not that pretty. But it's surprisingly attainable price makes it more attractive.

Is it possible that GM actually has the ability to learn? Have they figured out that pricing is important and people like a nice deal? First the CT5 is 10 grand lower than the car it replaces and now the Vette is $20,000 less than I expected? BTW, the LT2 is the prettiest smallblock since Tuned Port Injection.

Or this leaves room for a back-to-basics cheaper, simpler Camaro. This new corvette is 90% of what I hoped for...I think Chevy knows what they’re doing.

Dude! Will you rate the d*mn exterior design!

The question wasn't asking what you thought it looked like. My boyfriend isn't Chris Evans but I'd still give him a 9 if you ask me.

It’s an impressive sticker price, but it also just signaled the death of almost every other GM performance car priced below it because they are all no more or little more practical than this is (I’m looking at you Camaro and ATS....respectively) That leaves no room for a ZL1 or even a loaded 1LE SS, which arguably leaves no room for the Camaro, and I think that is the plan at this point.
They are two ENTIRELY different animals now. If Chevrolet gets Camaro right, they can overlap in price. Camaro is still a front engine, RWD 2+2 and it now has room to go up where the C7 was.

Looks like a Vette to me. I wouldn't mistake it for anything else if I saw it coming at me down the road. Love it!

I gave it an 8. I love the way it still looks like a Corvette even with the mid-engine proportions! Interior looks pretty cool too, though I'd have to drive one to see what I think of the square steering wheel.

And a $60k start price - wow! I can't wait to read about the performance stats, I think a lot of high priced Euro's will be shamed!

Solid 8. Have to see the front end in person. Profile and rear are very nice.

I gave it a 7 but I'm giving GM a 9 because they're also building it in RHD
for Holden in Australia but also perhaps Chevrolet in UK....

I think you are right. Chevy is of course GM's entry level brand. I have a feeling Camaro will live on in one form or another, maybe in their electric agenda somehow.

I gave it a 9. A few minor details I would tweak but still very impressive with the design you can still tell it's a Corvette I was afraid with it moving to mid engine it would not fit. My biggest gripe is that weird stack of buttons on the interior but exterior is very well done. The 60k price point is freakin awesome too was NOT expecting this to come in around that price point.

Re: Rate the 2020 Corvette exterior design

Easy 9 out of 10. Very excited to see it and hear it and perhaps drive it. Fantastic job!.

I better see these ****ers all over the place.

There is going to be alot of sleepless nights ahead for me trying to figure out how to get one..

Where do I put the stroller?...(don't care)

How am I going to pay for it?...(don't care)

Where is the rest of the family going to sit? (I'll buy a used Pontiac Montana for them to follow me in..if they can keep up)

    Chevy/GM they did this!!!
