Impala will be wrapping up its storied history on February 28th, CT6 in January

Sad to see but we all knew it was coming. GM sedans are falling off fast.

"As for the Impala and CT6, the Caddy will cease domestic production in January — just as previously reported. The model will continue in production in China, though it’s doubtful GM will opt to import any. The Impala will linger a bit longer, wrapping up its storied history on February 28th"

I'm also sad the Impala is going away. I'm going to hold onto my 5 year old 40K miles LTZ as long as it is still reliable. It still looks great to me. There aren't any other cars out there that intrigue me. The Buick TourX would if it had a V6 instead of a four cylinder. It's days are numbered now also. I can't see me switching to Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, etc. etc. either. Maybe an Explorer if they ever get all the early production problems figured out.

Final Impala will be a silver LT. You can rent it from the National rent a car stand at the Pensacola regional airport. Itll have a commemorative key tag

    That's probably a good guess.

We knew it was coming, but still yet another disappointing story out of GM.

Are you sure the final Impala won't first go to the National location at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport?

It really is. All the cancelled sedans/cars are disappointing. Volt gone? Trailblazer is disappointing.

CT5/CT4 TBD. Nothing exciting coming. Where are all the EVs?

I don't get it. Maybe I'll be surprised in the new year.

I've been hoping that GM would send the Impala off with a special limited run of SS models using the 3.6 TT that was used in the Cadillac XTS Vsport.

I was wondering why they didn't at least offer AWD on the Impala, but an SS with the TT V6 would be nice too.

GM doesn't do anything cool or exciting outside of Corvette anymore.

For something exciting or cool to happen at GM, it needs to first meet a number on an excel spreadsheet...they aren't taking any chances anymore. MOAR 3.6L FWD CUVs is all we're going to get...at least until the EVs roll out. The next 2 years are going to be pretty lean in terms of excitement outside the Corvette.

To the CT6....its a damn shame what GM did to it, Omega, and the BW. We should be seeing BW powered XT6/7/8s rolling around on the Omega platform putting the Aviator in its place, but instead we got a grossly overpriced Acadia SLT2 that had a better final figure in some powerpoint presentation. GM needs some freaking car guys back in charge, this is getting embarrassing.

It's interesting how Ford and GM mirror each other on the car cull.

By the end of 2020, only the Malibu/Fusion and CT4/CT5/MKZ/Continental will remain, although Fusion and MKZ will be on their way out by then as well.

By the time it's all said and done....GM will just have the Corvette and Ford will only have the Mustang....everything else will be a truck, SUV, or crossover. Its funny thinking back, we all pointed and laughed when Ford made the decision while their Fusion was a solid 4th...GM just kept quiet, killed their sedans and no one noticed because their sedans didn't sell.

    Same here with our XTS.
