Ken Miles and Carroll Shelby together. Maybe Matt Damon needs a bigger hat?
Pony Car: an affordable, compact, highly styled car with a sporty or performance-oriented image and an available V8.

What's a good GM story? I can think of the Penske, Z/28, Trans Am series.....
GM’s got nothin like HFII and Shelby vs Ferrari...... Ford was seriously considering BUYING Ferrari at one point.

The original GT40 is a world renowned classic respected by everyone in the racing industry and originals are now worth millions!!

This should be one AWESOME movie! Gawd I wish GM would have teamed Duntov with DeLorean and turned them lose on the world!!

By the look of the trailer they will most likely ignore the fact that the GT40 was based on the Lola Mk6 and designed/ built in England

I'm also wondering if they will mention Denny Hulme at all?

    Or Bruce McLaren ?

I hope that happens by showing the controversy of the proposed tied finish that was foiled by the Lemans organizers.

There's more to the story than that, Eric Broadly only built three Lola MK 6s before he was convinced by Ford to assist in developing the GT40, the chassis for the MK6 were a very rough startng point for the new GT40 and far from straight pinch of the chassis.

    The point is this

They will most likely avoid actual history and claim that Shelby built the thing in a backyard barn from scratch then won every race it ever entered in '

Shelby didn't handle the project until after the first failed attempt

Sounds like he needs more Texas accent.

I'm sceptical because of the trailer itself that shows Henry Ford II asking Shelby to build him a car to take on Ferrari

We know it didnt happen that way , Perhaps hes asking him to take over after the initial failed attempt ?

As far as the Kiwi's Bruce and Denny I guess we'll have to wait and see if they're in the movie

I'm just sceptical because of you know ....Hollywood license.....

Yep thats a pretty good account of how it all went down

Lets hope the movie is historically accurate

    It's still an awesome story
