    SsangYong 2018 Rexton

Just saying... SsangYong has made a Crossover SUV with a pretty nice place to sit. I know, ten people are going to come along and say it looks like this and it looks like that. Copy, copy, copy. Well, I don't care. I'm just saying it looks like a nice place to sit. I don't care if my wife looks like another woman and I've been driving her for 15 years...

note: I do realize I just essentially CLOSED this "thread" as it doesn't leave much room for negativity - but it is what it is. I just wanted to share my thoughts...

I also don't care much for the exterior. It's "okay"... Or as they say in China, "ma ma hu hu"...

    I'll be the first.

I see at least 5 different cars all thrown together into this thing.

I don't even care if it has similarities to other cars, it does look good. But what is the quality underneath that leather?

Now have your wife put on a nice wig in a different color and length than her own, dress her up, undress her and give her a test drive. You'll be surprised just how good different can be... especially after 15 years!!

IMHO CHEVY "premier" trims and Buick's should LOOK that nice inside

If Chevy's top trim looked that good inside then Buick would have little purpose in NA, which IMO would be a good thing for GM given Buicks recent sales trend.

It seems people are pretty happy with the reliability of the Envision - which was built in China. China's products are getting better and better. It was only a matter of time...

Sounds like a paint job or a turbo hood/spoiler to me! :p

    Re: SsangYong 2018 Rexton

IMO, any manufacturer can design good interiors. The question is whether the mass market in the US is willing to pay for nicer interiors.

Almost every market in the world gets better interiors in mainstream vehicles than we do. A lot of that boils down to the fact that car ownership is still a privilege in many markets. They also often pay a premium due to taxes of various sorts. So people expect more from a car when it's a relatively rarefied purchase and spend a lot more on it. In the US, cars are an everyday necessity for the masses. It's unclear people will tolerate a price hike for nicer interiors. You see the same sort of dynamic in international vs. US airlines, airports etc. as well.

IMO reliability boils down more to how the vehicle was designed and engineered and not who bolted it together. So I'd expect a GM-engineered car built in China to be like any other GM-engineered car.

I would to an EXTENT EXPECT the made in CHINA CARS TO BE BETTER then there US made models as GM has a LOT riding on these and ONE MISSTEP would HURT GM BIG TIME
and in CHINA a LOT of locally consumed goods are of quality BUILD - often MORE utilitarian in design but NOT CHEAP cr#% Americans GET from China

That interior has too many buttons etc for my liking but so do most new cars. I like to drive my car not look at 'pretty pictures' on a screen whilst driving. I am probably not typical when it comes to this though.

Who's talking about pretty pictures on a screen? I'm just saying the interior looks like a nice place to be - while I'm driving...

That looks like a nice place to be. Who owns SsangYong these days? Maruti or Tata?

Actually GM does not even make 25% of its profits in China. The bulk of their income is in North America.

I'd like to see good interior photos. That name.... Does Mr. Sang have a stuttering problem?
    85 cars since 1975....
    Good night and good luck.

I was refering to GM IN the USDM market as CHINA most likely will NOT "give up" on GM because of ONE bad quality exported car
where as AMERICANS this is there "first" IMPORTED car from CHINA and as long as it is a GOOD car few people will NOTICE it is CHINESE
