"The G90’s long list of technology includes a suite of autonomous driving features, though the automaker says that system will only launch in Korea for now. Hyundai is also touting what it claims is the world’s first Smart Posture Caring system, which automatically adjusts the driver’s seat position, steering wheel, side-view mirror, and head-up display to just the right position for a driver’s body.

Following the G90, the Genesis brand is expected to have a total of six models by 2021. Slated to launch next is the G80 sedan, which will replace the current Hyundai Genesis sedan. Following that is the G70 model targeted to take on the BMW 3 Series segment. Other models will include a number of crossovers and possibly a sporty coupe to replace the current Hyundai Genesis two-door.

As in a redesigned Grandeur being renamed a Genesis product in markets like the US instead of Hyundai? That'd be somewhat odd, as what would they do for an entry-luxury sedan in their domestic market? Grandeurs sell exceptionally well in Korea so I don't see them moving that entire product well upmarket and to a different brand within their portfolio (like moving the Accord to Acura as a TLX). Or maybe they'd do this with the not-as-successful Aslan. That vehicle seems sufficiently premium to be a Genesis product. I would hope they'd stick to their RWD platform though as that'd better allow higher end variants along without perception issues in doing so.

The Azera is a competitor to the Impala. The RLX is in the same class as the 5/E/S90/XF/G80/CTS. The G90 is the fullsize S/A8/XJ/7 class.

The Genesis brand will be RWD luxury. The Azera replacement will remain with Hyundai and will remain in its current class and position. The G70 will be a RWD sport sedan complete with a high performance 400+ hp model aimed directly at the C63 AMG/ATS-V/M3&4/RS5 and next gen RS4.

I wouldn't go that far (the 1st gen Genesis - maybe).

The 2G Genesis/G80 is tuned more like the outgoing E Class (prior to its MCE) - more based on a comfortable ride, but still fairly planted going into corners, but definitely not going for a sportier feel like the CTS (that's what Kia's production version of the GT concept is for).

When does the G70 start production? Two years from now?

^ Hard to say as Hyundai has been pretty mum about the G70 and we haven't even seen a mule, much less a prototype testing.

But w/ rumblings about a new RWD Kia sports sedan being ready to launch in 2017 (concept/thinly disguised production version to be shown later this year) - that is if it shares platforms w/ the G70 and not the G80, can't see the Kia beating the Genesis to market by much, if at all (so the G70 should also launch around then).

Latest report indicates a 2017 launch for the G70 (if that indeed is the case, surprised we haven't seen prototypes testing).
