    Ridgeline, low end torque? hahaha!

    3.5-Liter VTEC® V-6 Engine
A 3.5-liter, VTEC V-6 engine gives the Ridgeline optimum power and efficiency. This results in 247-hp and 245 lb.-ft. torque. The VTEC engine combined with an innovative two-stage intake manifold and a special fresh-air intake system provide power when you need it, with high-end horsepower and low-end torque even during extreme towing conditions. The fresh-air intake draws air from the top of the front grill to protect against dust and water intrusion during launches. You'll power your boat up even the steepest ramp in no time.

Thats way to funny knowing that the Ridgeline makes its torque at 4500 rpm! My Truck redlines at that! This is pretty sad for a consitered "Full Size Truck". I mean honestly if anyone here says that 4500 rpm is low end torque, than you have problems. This was just to funny...

Re: Ridgeline, low end torque? hahaha!

depends on how much torque is available between 1000-4500rpm......

Since 4500 is max torque output (whereas GM cars generally also have peak values in the 4000range but the powerband is very flat and alot of it is available below it).

My corolla has OODLES of torque (a whole bigass 125lb/ft at 4400rpm) :p
Flooring it and driving lightly feels exactly the same until 4400rpm hits in which a rush of power is felt all the way up to 6000rpm redline. (no its not the VVTL-i system, it just pulls harder from 4400-6000rpm)

The Ridgeline could prolly tow stuff no problem, but they'd be hella slow

My long in the tooth S-10 has 250 lb-ft @ 2800 rpm. Mind you it sucks the gas like crazy but at least it hauls a$$ when pulling a trailer. I guess you have to compromise: Real truck = poor mileage, Pretend truck = decent mileage. Oh well.

Re: Ridgeline, low end torque? hahaha!

I can only comment from my direct experience with the Ridgeline and the power feels very good down low just by the seat of the pants driving. Also, 90% of the torque is available at 2,500 RPMs and above. It always feels strong especially on initial acceleration. I don't tow with the Ridgeline, but have heard other owners are very pleased with its towing performance.

    Low end huh?

Considering the lowend would be at slow speeds, I think the Fridgline would be awesom putting all of it's massive power through the front wheels.

AWD only kicks in at above 10mph or so.

To all who called the Ridgeline a mid size, Have you seen the Honda commercial (s) claiming it to be a half ton truck?

Actually, Toyota has quietly called the Tacoma and it's predecessors a half-ton for about the last biollion years if I am not mistaken. It has been done before.

Just wondering, is the Ridgline a FWD transversmounted v6? If it is who the hell would consider towing with a fwd. FWD is not made to tow. This is almost is bad as when i see minivans towing full size trailers. BUH BYE TRANNY~!

This really makes no sense. If this were a Honda forum and the poster stated this about the Ridgeline, then maybe you would have a point and your analogy would make sense.
