    Possible Hyundai High Performance Division?

Would've posted this in the News section under the 'Competition' header, but I don't have the priviledges.....

    From Car and Driver........

Only a few months after Hyundai opened its new motorsports center just outside of Frankfurt, Germany, it seems that the brandís plans include more than just a WRC-spec version of the i20 subcompact hatch. Australian publication Drive reports that the Korean automaker is planning a full-fledged performance division.

Let's see...KIA is Pontiac/Korea. And Hyundai might go Pontiac/Korea? Where does Olds fit in here? Does anyone have Rocket Power?

Remember that it's Hyundai that does all the fundamental engineering for Hyundai/Kia - so eventual performance model could come out as either brand.

A performance Genesis Coupe would act as a halo model in Europe, even if it's Kia that takes the performance role in the long term.

Hyundai can have a performance version but that doesn't mean that its lineup will overall be sportier than Kia's.

After all, MB has AMG even tho its lineup overall is less sporty than BMW's (altho recently, BMWs generally have become less sporty while MB has been trying to dial up the sport a bit).
