I say oh well it looks great
Chevy needs to amp up the looks of the next Sonic if it wants to compete.
It's a gorgeous little car but the picture from the rear seat looking out makes me claustrophobic.
Mazda3 sedan looks great, yes that hatchback back seat looks claustrophobic.
Current ride: 2015 Chevy Sonic 1.8L 5sp manual sedan
Previous ride: 1998 Subaru Legacy Wagon AWD 2.2L 5sp manual
Next ride, pre-pandemic: Maybe a 2021 2.0T CT4, weekend car, keep the Sonic as DD
Next ride, post-pandemic: Keep driving the Sonic!
Does anyone notice all of the exposed metal the rear seat passengers can see on the B pillar
I'd definitely be doing a lot of forward leaning to see out the window. But, flesh out that window to be larger and a lot of the good looks of the car go away.
And I agree, the Sonic needs to grow up in its looks, seems childish looking next to the new Mazda 3.
How the hell is this stunning??
Allpar poster DC-93 posted a good thought about the Mazda 3 hatchback. https://www.allpar.com/forums/thread...ost-1085064243 It was worth to quote and to share.
Back end looks mashed in, IMO. Like a Pinto that got rear ended!
The only thing I find stunning is girls.

I guess it's another way to kill sedan sales and send people into SUV's when they can't fit an adult in the back.
Normally, especially with compacts/subcompacts, I'd say the hatchback looks better than the sedan. Not so much in this case. Dumb design decisions like these just push people closer to boring CUVs.
