I feel like I'm commiting a sin but...

I guess it's not that bad that I happen to sort-of like the looks of the new tacoma, it really looks nice and it's big, but if the colorado had an SS or a canyon had a denali, I'd rather take it because I think the colorado looks hotter, but the inside is cramped and boring looking.

Ok...why did you start a thread to talk about this when you never asked a question.

    No, no it's not.

Hey, it's a free country... buy what you like. They way I look at it if GM builds a vehicle that's AS appealing to me as a foreign-owned company, I'd take the GM. If the GM is better, it's a no-brainer... buy the GM. And if the competition is better, it's also a no-brainer for me: buy the competition. A 'devoted' GM fan probably wouldn't consider another brand... that's kinda what devotion means, I think... but you can still like GM and buy something else if you want. You just have to park farther away from the GMi headquarters!

All that said, the GM twins are the best looking little trucks on the market. I did an informal survey (1 person... me!), and the Colorado and Canyon tied for first place! Can't argue with statistics man... go for the GM products!

You can create a topic without asking a question, wise ass. Get more than 30 posts before you start busting people's chops.

You like what you like, I dunno why you'd feel guilty. I can't imagine anyone finding the Tacoma attractive, though.

I was as hard core GM as they come (almost as crazy as CaddyAurora)... (Just look at the edmunds forums about 5 years ago)....

Anyways, as much as I love GM, when my GTP climbed in miles, I bought myself a G35 Coupe. I tried to get my wife into a CTS, GTP CompG, GXP, but she decided on a TL.

But whatever... My dream car, is still a Z06 Vette

I say it is okay. You like the style, but do you like the mechanics. It is like saying you like how sexy a Ferrari looks, even though GM doesn't make it. I like the style of many cars, like the Kia Spectra, even though I hate Kia, they make nice looking cars.

So yes it is okay to like the style of other cars, as long as you are devoted to the ones you like.

P.S.- Good job on liking the Tacoma, it's a good truck.

    Hehe, good stuff

Hey the Tacoma's a pretty nice truck. Even if you insist the media is biased, a truck has to be decent to win Truck of the Year. I sat in one a while ago and could not for the life of me find a sitting position that I could deal with, so I could never get one. That said, the interiors are the best in the class (tied with the H3 IMO), and the motors are strong. The exteriors aren't too exciting, but it is a Toyota after all.

There's nothing wrong with respecting a quality product, and anyone who judges a car (or anything for that matter) completely on it's badge is not only ignorant, but not a true enthusiast, and is really missing the point.

I love your posts. Someone has to put 'em in their place.

IAMCANADIAN, I like the Tacoma too. I was a little disappointed when I sat in one, but then again, there aren't any compact or midsize trucks with an amazing interior (Not that I care THAT much). I am not brand-loyal, so I would say get what you want since it is your money. I would probably buy domestic even if the import was a little better, but if I liked a non-domestic vehicle a lot more I would get it.

i again ask the same question why does a canadian consider it a sin to like the products of an all conquering company whose star is on the ascendant in comparison to a tired old "has been" which is currently in its death throes?

and why is GM domestic and Toyota "foreign" ?

esp as both these comopanies are equally "foreign"

I have another question. Why do you bother coming to GMI?
