Probably a fall guy for some corporate suits. If small cars are your forte and gas is half what it was four years ago, guess what, the market shifts.

The writer doesn't seem familiar with Hyundai. It's not like he writes for an industry publication or anything.

He states Hyundai has little or no presence in the utility vehicle department. They have three SUV/CUV/whatever: Tucson, Santa Fe Sport, Santa Fe, in ascending size. All are available with 2WD and AWD and assorted engines.
They and KIA have had a presence in utility vehicles since early in the 2000s. My d-i-l has a bof 4WD 2008 Sorento that has done yeoman duty.

I was able to read the article once, when I tried to go back to it they said I had to be a subscriber. There was a link to H/K suppliers' safety violations and hazardous working conditions, I think at the actual factories but I was unable to go back and dig in detail.

One "lesson" that makers seem to be uninterested in learning is that if you take care of your people they will take care of you. One crushing death in a robot because there were not adequate or enforced SOPs should not result in fines. It should result in prosecutions. Until actual individuals, going on up to the BoD, are prosecuted, then BoDs will continue to allow iffy practices.

Hyundai is notorious for its feudal culture. I would not work for them

    They do need something larger.
It'll take 3 dollar per gallon plus gas to shake folks off of their large truck addiction.
    85 cars since 1975....
    Good night and good luck.

Our gas up here in the great white north is $1.14 per litre, convert that to the gallon then add .33 per dollar to get the US rate and your at $5.50 and I will still own trucks. Never will I own a disposable compact. In fact there's a new power wagon on order with a 6.4L, not concerned with mpg. I need to keep my business rolling and trucks do it.
