I still don't understand why resale values on the Kias are so low. They build a damn good vehicle! My Optima hybrid has has the fewest (0) visits to the dealer for warranty work than any other vehicle I've owned.
Good lord Fiat get it together.

1. Discounts - since resale value is calculated from MSRP and not ATP, discounting will have an adverse effect (think of getting your savings up front).
2. Perception in the general public lagging - takes longer for general perception to change when it comes to something like autos (quicker to change in consumer electronics; see Samsung which used to be seen as cheapo electronics or household appliances and now is seen as one of the top brands).
Wow , Mazda slipped quite low for IQS
Two things suprise me on this list. Toyota's average ranking and Kia's top ranking. Unlike Toyota, I don't hate Kia, I am ambivalent about them. However, Kia being on top makes me question the veracity of the data. There are brands, such as Porsche and Lexus, that have been perfecting their manufacturing process for decades to garner top spots. Then out of nowhere comes Kia. Impossible? No. But it does make me question the data. And very odd that Toyota, who has developed a reputation of "defect free" is now mid-pack.
Why is Cadillac below average?
The difference between #1 & #25 is insignificant.
Land Rover, Jaguar and Fiat at the bottom. So shocking.
Too bad for them that Tesla's not on the list to make 'em look better.
