Thumbs down Chinese engineering really sucks!

The first crash-test performed on a Chinese car.

The JMC Landwind was the first to be tested by the renowed German institute, ADAC Motorwelt.

    This is what happened:

    Video Nº:1

    Video Nº: 2

This what was left of the Heap:

Conclusion: IMPOSSIBLE TO SURVIVE IN A CRASH AT 60km/h (40 Mph).

This car as you can see, is a Chinese copy, obviously a very bad copy of an Opel Frontera (Isuzu Rodeo).

Der Spiegel on line, said the ADAC Motorwelt (German Automobile club) claimed that it's the worst car they have ever tested in their history (maybe a bit of exaggeration but who knows..), ADAC now is asking for a ban on the European market.

Wow that sucks. Wouldn't want to be driving that because it looks like you would be mamed but still not die. Or die in tremendous pain.

    Re: Chinese engineering really sucks!

This is the original article from the Der Spiegel translated to English:

    Headwind for land wind.

    - Two days after the presentation of the jeep land wind on the IAA, the General German Automobile Association requires of the Chinese manufacturer numerous rework. With a Crashtest the car with catastrophic results fell through. The autofarmer rejected the criticism.

Jeep "land wind": Cheap jeep from China

Munich/Frankfurt at the Main - cars with such a low safety standard should receive "no release for the European market", demanded the automobile club. Ever a vehicle fared with the General German Automobile Association Crashtest in such a manner badly. The Chinese cheap jeep is to come in the autumn to prices starting from approximately 15,000 euro to Germany. In the case of a frontal impact with only 64 kilometers per hour the passenger space of the car broke down completely, communicated the General German Automobile Association. "the driver would not have had a chance of survival." Also with the seitenaufprall it would have tightened itself heavy head injuries. Beyond that show that two tons heavy vehicle a pronounced roll inclination, the steering element is imprecise and the braking distances long. An electronic stability program gives it just as little as ABS. Besides consumption with 11,6 litres of super is very high to 100 kilometers, the processing is "schlampig". The manufacturer of the vehicle, the Chinese Jiangling of engine company, should improve the vehicle in opinion General German Automobile Association. In particular a sturdy passenger space and a divided steering column are necessary. Also the kneeling and head impact range would have to be inserted defused as well as a standard front seat passenger Airbag.

A Jiangling speaker rejected the reproaches: "in China and other countries ten thousands of land wind on the market" are already, said to Bas van the Nieuwenhuijzen of the European center company in Belgium. The vehicles would have shown a "excellent achievement" in the past three years with security. Besides fulfill the enterprise the standard ISO 9001-2000 for quality management and the Chinese CCC Produktzertifizierung. The speaker criticized the General German Automobile Association at the same time. This informed land wind neither about the tests nor passed the results on to the manufacturer. In June the General German Automobile Association had tested the cheap car Dacia Logan and had criticized afterwards safety lack. Briefly on it the automobile club had to withdraw its criticism, because the bad test results were to be led obviously on worn tires back".

That was horrific. And I thought the crash tests of the previous F150, Chevy Blazer, and Pontiac Trans Port were bad (and they were bad).

Just to have an idea, how bad this car is: ADAC Motorwelt said the car also failed in all the drive test, it has severe bodyroll, lousy mileage, and horrible brakes, needed 100m (328ft) to stop from 50km/h (30Mph) to immobility.

ADAC was categoric, when they said, this is the worst car they've tested in 20 years of testing cars.

Speaking of the S-10 crash results, the pic of the yellow truck looks a lot like the S-10 in the door and fender designs. The company probably just took the old S-10 and Trooper platform and built there own version. Very scary results for a "modern" vehicle.

Perhaps instead of "Landwind" they use the term Downwind?

This test is made by Germany, without any knowledge of Chinese government.

In China cars do not hit a wall. They hits cow, people, bicycles and maybe another car that will fall to pieces.

Actually this car is a part of the population growth control plan designed by the Chinese government. They save the money of the electric chair, they just let their guys buy these death-trap-on-wheels.
