2018 Honda Accord struggles to move units

    Article from Autoblog. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/12/...rd-slow-sales/

Edit: I guess the Acura front end and the fastback look like if it was the reincarnated Crosstour didn't helped things.

This is the reason just like Cadillac, Honda is dying and they have no idea what they are doing. Lincoln is better than them.

Honda has little to no rebates on the car and leasing is horrible. This time last year Honda was doing 0.9% or 1.9% financing plus dealer cash on remaining 2017 Accord's.

Seriously, you need to get a clue, their volume has almost doubled since 2002:

It might be the styling of which I kind of like, other than that sort of avant garde front end whereas it used to be much more mundane in appearance. Maybe the V6 should have stayed as well. Who knows though it could be just another casualty of the SUV craze too.

As much as I wish it was the Accord's ugly styling, I have to look at reality. People have been lining up to buy bland to ugly Japanese cars for years. Just pricing, nothing more... Though why isn't Honda offering better rates? Going for profit and less sales?

Cars in general are no longer moving like they once did. Betcha they sell every Pilot and Cr-V they can.

Wow, that thing is hit! Yikes, but I doubt that's why it's not selling. Most cars are struggling unless they give them away at the moment.

    It's official.

Last year was the last model year of that generation. It's not surprising they had attractive offers.

Honda has always managed to price higher than the competition (even Toyota) and sell well. That's, apparently, no longer working. I think there's more here than just business as usual. Part of it is the decline of sedans. I think the other part, as the story points out, is the perception gap among mainstream brands is narrowing and with it, the premium people are willing to pay for the better-perceived brands is going down. And Honda is going to be the hardest hit.
